JC was running up and down the field on Highlands last year until the big "strip" was returned for a TD. That was a huge play in that game, but JC played Highlands tough and I believe will do so this year if they get that chance.

IDC what people say about the spread, but the wishbone is the great equalizer in high school football. Highlands players had never played a grind it out wishbone team like JC. That is why it was close Last year. That was the best team JC has ever had period,and they got beat by a average Ft Thomas team. To say there are even in the same ballpark as Ft. Thomas is one of the most ludicrous things I have ever heard. I am glad JC has turned the program around and I am glad they make our county proud, But JC fans need to realise that in the end they aren't as good as schools like Ft Thomas and they never will be. I am pretty sure that their isn't anything Ft. Thomas isn't good at.

The Scott game will tell a lot, but I have my doubts about CovCath's ability to beat JC this year. They might not get waxed like last year, but I think JC takes them if the game ever materializes.

Mountian football is becoming very competitive and has come along way in recent years. To say we will never compete is dumb. Are our kids are not up to the task? The Northern Kentucky teams have played great ball for years, but to say the mountains or JC can never compete with them is not smart! Look how far JC has closed the gap in just a few short years. May not happen this year, but stay tuned, it will!

This is coming from a Johnson Central fan, but Paintsville used to be quite the football school. Didn't they make it to the state finals a couple times in like the 70s or 80s..?
