This is going to be a very interesting match up.

Dixie's offense will keep them in alot of games, however its their defense that tends to let them down. If they are able to get some decent play out of their defense I really think that Dixie will win this by at least 10. However, if they don't it could be a shootout.

does anyone know there record?
10-31-2009, 12:37 AM
Tomcats by atleast 2 scores

I thought Dixie would make this an interesting game until they laid an egg against Boone Cty tonight.

I'll take Dixie by a touchdown.
Best of luck to both!

I agree with you, I have a hard time going with Dixie after losing to Boone.

I see this game as a 100 point game. Neither team will stop each other.

Meanwhile back to the war, Ashland makes it happen at home this week Ashland over Dixie 34-14

The location of the game will determine the winner. Still, Dixie Heights plays a strong schedule. Football competition in northern Kentucky and eastern Kentucky are not remotely similar.

I'm picking Dixie based on the strength of schedule, but I pick them grudgingly. The offense has the capability to put up big numbers, but the defense seems to have the capability to allow the opponents to do the same. In my mind it's a tossup, so I'll give the extra point to Dixie just to be something of a homer. :eyeroll:

Dixie lays a licking on the Kittens and wins in a shootout:
Dixie- 62 Ashland- 48

Ashland's defense will prevail with no problem...ashland wins handily.

Both of them looked like day old bull droppings against Highlands. Last night's game was exactly what I would have expected it would be between the two. Neither team is very impressive and a 10 game series between them would be a 5-5 split.
It all comes down to coaching. I give Thompson something of a pass because he has at least demonstrated an ability to take the team into the playoffs several games deep, but Dixie really needs to think about a change. All I ever hear about Tom is what a great guy he is, but Dixie isn't going to get anywhere in NKY 5A being great guys. I'd love to see what a guy like Lickert could do with Dixie. Or Boone, for that matter.

I'll go with Ashland in a close one.

Ashland, who should really be undefeated because they lost by 1 to Johnson Central which was a fluke, will win with their defense!! Should be a decent game though.

I believe Dixie is a good team, unfortunately for them they play in the same district as Highlands and CC. However I don't see Dixie scoring 50 or 60 points on a solid Ashland defense, Highlands yes, but not Dixie.

Dixie will put up about 21-28 points if they are winning the game. IF not they will be lucky to put up 14 against Ashalnds Defense. Ashland has only lost 1 game this season and really should of lost it but that loss has only made them stronger. Ashland wins 34 to 20.

Northern Kentucky teams are strong this year. I think even Dixie will be surprised at how well they handle Ashland.

this will be a great first round game in the playoffs i have no idea who wins this game. i think first half play will decide this one.

Dixie is soft and quits when they get behind. They have not won a big game all year and they won't start now. Ashland 35 Dixie 3:moon:

i keep hearing about Dixie's great offense but nobody considers Ashland's speedy defense that shutdown Boyd county to almost negative yardage . ashland offense is also a force to be reckoned with. i give ashland an edge in this game... Ashland 36- Dixie 14
11-01-2009, 05:46 PM
I hope the game is safe and Ashland looses in a blow out. It will be interesting to see Ashland start to play teams their own size. trom:

Ashland's defense is quick but puney and will start getting wooped when they see some teams with decent size. Sorry bout that bro.

I would not brag too much about shutting down a very bad 2-8, 4A team!!

Ashland has only lost 1 game , in large part to a very weak schedule.
4A Boyd 2-8
3A Russell 6-4
3A Belfry 7-3
1A Raceland 6-4
4A Greenup Co 3-7
two bad 5A teams Mont. co and Woodford
Not what I would call a tough schedule and would be boasting about being so great. You have to play the big boys to be at the top. I am not saying you will not beat Dixie ( not impressed with them at all), but that would be a ticket to a good old fashioned butt kicking in round two.
