I wouldn't think undefeated conference Champions. Would be a shot in the dark.
#4
Campbell County: Jake Ritter, Jake Dawn, TJ Jett, Coy Shepard and Zack Lemmons all have ver bright futures witht the Camels.

Not a shot in the dark, JV Last round was last night, undefeated......most didnt put any points on the board and if they did...second string freshman were playing

LC's got a pretty good team. I think they could play with bell and boyle. They got good players at all positions. QB, WB, HB, FB, split end, and the line. The d is really solid to.

Letcher Central's JV only had one loss to Bell Co, but beat them the second time.

My Priorities are:
1)God
2)Family
3)Cougar Athletics!

Everything else doesn't matter![/COLOR]

Boyle,Mercer,Catholic, only ones i know that are good Mercer being the youngest playing a lot of freshman on JV

Its sad but West Jessamine Middle School has talent but no coaching it takes the high school 2 years to get rid of the moronic crap they learn there.
#11
Shelby Valley has a pretty good JV team, their record isnt the best in the world. They lose to LCC twice, Belfry and Johnson Central. This is why theyre playing the games to get them better. Got some pretty good JV talent in Rusty Roberts, Logan Lucas Lucas firlds etc.

LCC has the best JV team i saw all year. The cougars have a very bright future.

LCCHS has lost two JV games in two years. Both to Bell. They revenged that los this year. They are pretty young as well starting 4 freshman on the O-line Freshman QB, FB, and 1 WR. They have 4 starters on varsity that are Sophomores so they don't play them down. They have some good young talent in Keiston Hall, Matt Boggs, Sam Sergent, Dalton Taylor, Conrad, Blake Knight, Chris Tyree, and several others. Very solid team with good skill players. If the o-line comes along this group of Fresh and Sophs could be the best group yet.

Harlan County's JV went 6-2 with two teams cancelling. The Black Bears only two losses were to Bell (@ Bell 32-30) and LCC (@HC 38-20). The Bears avenged one of those losses with a win over Bell (@HC 22-18), and the rematch with LCC never came as there was a schedule misunderstanding. The young Bears were without 4 of their best athletes as two freshman and two sophomores start on varsity. They are a very aggressive and hard-working young bunch of kids. If they work hard and hit the weight room, they have a chance to compete in their district in the years to come.

I do believe Henry co. JV team won state last saturday so if i had to give my perdictions they are one of the elite teams in the state.

Boyle JV finished undefeated. The Freshman team was 5-1, with their only loss at 3OT loss at Lexington Catholic. The future looks bright for the Rebels

I base nothing on jv play. Most of the good young players don't even dress for jv. At least they don't here.

Unless your starting lineup is loaded with underclassmen, I can see a value in a Freshman and JV program/production. These are usually loaded with good players or future good players that will lead the program when the current upperclassmen are gone. Sometimes these teams also have very productive players who can't find playing time on Friday not because they aren't good but the players in front of them are Great at the time.

JV isn't a bad thing by no means. I'm just saying I don't base the future of a team on their jv success.

Who is that #34 on Letcher JV? He impressed me alot on defence when we played them over here at Shelby Valley. I can't remember seeing him when we played Letcher at their place though.

Freshman Rebs were called by catholic looking for a game. we called back and they said no. not for sure but i bet the freshman were wanting another piece of them badly.

It is only going to help our program.

agreed. A good JV team really is no reflection on future varsity success. A better reflection is how hard those underclassmen work in the off season to make themselves a varsity player

:dontthink That may hold true for teams with small rosters; say 65/70 or less. Boyle County has over 100 players on their roster. JV games provide essential playing time to the underclassmen who may only see a minute or two of action on Friday night. It's like the minor leagues for baseball players.

JV is good experience for Kids and rewards for hard work during the week but it is not a forcast for the future b/c there is so many varibles. I have seen teams play Varsity starters for various reasons on JV and on the other hand teams not play Freshman b/c they are in the 2 deep on varsity.

Bell had an off year in JV this year after being undefeated for 5 of the last 6 years, but they were primarly playing Freshman this year b/c many of the Sophmores are starting or playing key roles on the Varsity. The Varsity Bobcats are pretty young with only 6 seniors.

I totally agree....

How did Lawrence County do with JV this year?
#28
LC's Jv was 4-4 i think. All the teams they lost to were good to. Coal Grove, Ashland, Wayne, and Spring Valley(dont think that should count cause of the fight they were only down by 3).
