Prestonsburg @ Pike County Central 10/30: Broadcast 900/960/104.5 www.ekbsports.com

After seeing the Hawks dismantling of Sheldon Clark, I'm going to say this one will be a good game.

Predictions and thoughts?
#2
This game just got more interesting. I going with the Hawks in a huge upset.

Should be another close and good game for Pburg.. Good luck to both, and injuries free!!

If you are a football fan and for some reason don't want to go to the Belfry/Johnson Central game, then this is the game to go to.

I'll definately be at the game.

Man PC has just been rolling as of late...and now they are finally going to be hosting a playoff game.

I think PC has all the momentum right now...

I say they'll pull it out.

Rolling? They have beat ER and a dismantled SC team...they are 5-4 on the year. Wouldn't say they are rolling....tonight was a nice win for them, but when you look at all that SC had out, then its not really as impressive...:please: Just a bit of food for thought Prestonsburg has won 18 out of their last 19 regular season games. I think that this game will make 19 out of 20.

Don't know what you consider impressive but if you were at the PC/SC game you would know the Hawks did not slouch their way to this win. Dismantled? Hardly. Dominated? Definitely !

The past 3 weeks Pike Central has proven they can dominate the "trenches" if you will, they have played 3 straight teams who are ground and pound and now go against a not so EKY convential offense which I believe will hurt the Hawks tremeoundsly. I look for Burchet to have a big game and Jamerson. This one will look like its out of hand in the frist and then Pike Central will make a late push like they did against Belfry. If Pike Central can protect the ball and not commit TOs then they have a good shot at winning if not then P-Burg wins by 18.

I'm not doubting that they dominated Sheldon Clark, but it wasn't Sheldon Clark at full strength is all I was saying..

Yes SlammaBamma.

The more I thought about it...P-Burg does like to air it out alot...and it started to concern me.

Does anyone know how Chapman did against P-Burg in his past with Breahitt Co.?
#13
i would love to see this game. pike central is better team this year than previous years but on the other hand prestonsburg is as well.will be a very exciting game!
#14
I think this will be a very interesting game and I will be there, but I don't think I can make a prediction on this one.

Before this year Prestonsburg had been 4-2 against Breathitt Co. I'm pretty sure since 2000.

still not impressed with pc, belfry let them hang around until they needed to take care of business and they beat sc without the best players and got blow out by tolisa,do something in the playoff and i will give you credit...p-burg wins by couple tds
#17
Will be very interesting to watch this one.

Derrossett traditionally fares very well against a Coach Chapman defense. I think Pburg takes this going away, the key for PC is to not get down on themselves and let this affect their newfound confidence.

PC 18

Pburg by two scores. The main goal for PC should be to keep improving and look to make a good playoff push. This games means little more than just good competition before the playoffs.

:please:I personally am not very impressed with Belfry this year either, as I feel that Pike Central really out played them and really didn't have that great of a game againist SC in which did not have all the key players in that game either. Just so you know Slone played for SC for the entire game.
#21
If Pike Central can beat Prestonsburg then I'll be impressed. But until then...

Pike Central 13

anything can happen.
pike central is really stepping it up.
and i think they can win this game.
exp if all there players are there and ready to play!
we have a team full of talent!
good luck hawks!
GO CENTRAL!
#23
pc had a good win against sc, but sc had so many starters out it really hurt them and changed how the outcome may have been, but nothing can be done about it now, so im gonna predict pburg caps off the regular season 10-0, but they had better not overlook this pc team, they could very well pull the upset if pburg comes in big headed
#24
Prestonburg by less than 7
#25
Haha I really can't believe this. Prestonsburg is 9-0 and just beat a team that beat Pike Central 35-13 . Central being 5-4 with wins against Boyd, Knott,East Ridge and a dismantled Sheldon Clark team. What has PCC done for people to think this game will be close? Let alone win....

p-burg by 2 td's

10-0 for the blackcats after friday nite.

This is going to be a tough one for Prestonsburg. Coach Chapman has his Hawks clicking right now. Pike Central is very underrated in my opinion. They showed that with their thumping of Sheldon Clark the other night. Being PCC's senior night and playing the Mountain's #2 team, the Hawks will be fired up and ready to play. This game will boil down to the one thing that it always does when Prestonsburg takes the field: if Michael Burchett can continue to make good decisions like he has in every game this season, the Blackcats will come out away with a road victory and a perfect regular season.

The sluggish play in the Shelby Valley game should be enough to wake up the Blackcats and have their offense back on track. The question is will John DeRossett be approaching this game with same offensive scheme as he against Shelby Valley? I am like a lot of other people, I wasn't fond of it at first, but the more I thought about it, I began to like it. Establishing a good rushing attack will be vital come playoff time. The Blackcats have the talent in the backfield with Craynon and McKinney, they just have to signify that attack as a real weapon along with Burchett's many abilities at quarterback.

This game will be close. It's either going to be a low scoring game or an absolute shootout, but close either way. I predict that Prestonsburg will complete their undefeated regular season based on the fact that Burchett is their quarterback. Yes folks, he is that good. He is the most valuable player to his team in the Mountains. That's why Prestonsburg is in the position they are right now.

Good luck to both teams!
#29
Blackcats probably have one of the best quarterbacks in the state in Burchett. He is smart and can really read the game. should be a good game to watch but burchett and the blackcats will probably win out. hope everyone plays injury free and go into the playoffs healthy. good luck to both teams
#30
I am going to be the first to say that PC got me looking at them different. After nearly beating Belfry and killing SC. This may be a good game and maybe a upset. I take P-burg by 2 TD's.
