8th Region Predictions
#1
I say:
1) Shelby County: Too much talent
2) Anderson County: Good, but not great
3) Simon Kenton: Always a factor, never a winner
4) North Oldham: A couple of good players
5) Owen County: Tall, but slow
6) Gallatin County: well coached, very good shooters.
#2
I have to agree with Shelby being the top team but after that I think it's a toss up now that Hicks left North that drops them below South in their district.
#3
No love for Henry County???
#4
i have to disagree with gallatin being number six because henry county i believe is going to be a whole different team with new head coach
#5
It might be hard for Henry to adjust to the new system. But we will see.
#6
With All of 7 of Henry's seniors i think they will show everybody that they are a much improved team with a new coach and alot of leadership. Its going to be hard to stop them this year. If you look at what they did last year and compare them to this years team then people are going to be in trouble...
#7
Henry Should go undefeated in the district and win it. There's no one that can really stop them.
Owen?
Carroll?
Gallitain?
We will see once season starts good luck to all
#8
:dontthinkI dont see Owen or Gallatin getting the knod over Henry. Owen is tall but slow and dont have much guard play...their big men have a hard time guarding quicker kids.
#9
I gotta agree with grinders
#10
I agree.
#11
In the Region, it's SHELBY and everyone else

Donavin Johnson
Boomer Beckley
Daryl Hicks
Cache Tomlinson
Nigel Beach

They also have a pretty deep bench... Look for Shelby to cause some problems in the sweet 16
#12
i herd boomer might not e able to play this year.

Shelby County may be teh 4rd most talented team in the state behind Holmes and Scott County
#14
Shelby is a very talented....i see them making a deep run in state
#15
:Thumbs:Henry will surprise alot of people this year:Thumbs:
#16
I think HC will surprise alot of HC fans.... Don't look for to much out of them this year, with the new coach... Where and why did the other coach leave?????? It doesn't maker much about the other teams in the region. It will come down to Shelby and Anderson....
#17
How big is OC?
#18
shelby should be the favorite
#19
Henry County might be a tough team this year with there 7 seniors and 2 Jrs Spud Baldwin and Ryan Mitchell.:moon:

He went to Oldham County because he said he had a better chance of making it to state there... and I agree with Shelby but I think anybody else in the region has a chance to win on any given night besides a couple of teams

Your first 3 or 4 picks are hard to argue with but a dark horse team in the 8th Region this year will be Spencer County. They were extremely young last year and had a rough one, starting 3 sophomores and an 8th grade point guard. However, this year the Bears should suprise some teams. Spencer will still be young but much more experienced with some of the top players in the 8th Region: (Juniors) Logan Dunbar and Trey Wyatt; (Sophomore) Jacob Hollar; and (Freshman) Brandon Miller

in my opinion shelby will go Deep into the state tournament.

:thatsfunn spencer will be lucky to make it out of their district..they cant compete with Shelby and anderson, they will be lucky to beat emenince....your obviously just a fun or a parent of one of their players.

Can you even tell me what their record was last year? if i can recall i do remember seeing them in the stands watching the 8th region unfold because they couldnt make it out of their district. One year will not make much of a difference. I havent heard any talk about any of these kids so your just talking them up and makingh them look better then they really are.:dontthink

:please: Come on now how can they be a dark horse in the region when they cannot even make it out of their own district??? :lmao: Spencer will not be a threat to anybody. Sure they will win 2 games in their own district, which will be against Eminence

Real tough Eminence team this year :lmao:

Shelby Co. will be extremely talented this year and will make a deep run in the state tournament.... What does someone know about boomer that I don't know???
#28
i am a spencer fan and even i must agree that they will be no factor.their problem starts at the top with poor coaching.spencer needs to clean house and start over.they have a coach who doesnt care and that reflects everytime they play.i feel sorry for the kids, but until a change is made and the administation puts forth a serious effort it will never change.

with that being said, this region comes down to shelby vs.anderson for the title.everyone else will just be playing for 3rd.i really see know way shelby doesnt make it to state, too much talent and good coaching.since scott co. was moved to the 11th its been all shelby and this year will no different.
