Magoffin vs. Breathitt "CANCELED"

The game between magoffin and breathitt has been canceled due to school being called off by magoffin! It will count as a win for breathitt and a forfeit for magoffin!

So since they couldn't play due to being out of school (I'm assuming for the flu) they have to forfeit? If this is the case makes me see why many others haven't closed school for the flu so far.

I hate seeing this game canceled. I was looking forward to seeing how magoffin would against breathitt. But this locks breathitt for the district champion. so congrats bobcats.

I think they had the choice to play because as far as I know Russell is out the rest of the week and still playing Raceland Friday.

Powell didnt have school and they still played Magoffin. Must have been a choice.

There is no school activity allowed in Magoffin Co. untill after tuesday. When Magoffin played Powell they played on saturday because Powell was allowed school activity after that friday.

Does this help or hurt Breathitt?

I think we all conceded Breathitt was a substantial favorite entering this game, but they are still trying to find their groove before the competition resumes in the playoffs. Would Breathitt have benefitted more from varsity snaps in an outmatched game to work on things, or is it better to get a free pass and a Friday of rest?

magoffin is definately not scared, dont you guys understand that they are NOT ALLOWED to have any kind of after school activities of any kind. They even cancelled the ACT this saturday that was at the high school.

Magoffin is by no means "scared or afraid" to play Breathitt. In fact, I've heard many of their players were more excited about this game than any other one on the schedule. Magoffin not being able to compete Friday night has nothing to do with the players, coaching staff, or the fan base. They are out of school until next Tuesday, and ARE NOT ALLOWED to practice or play. They barely scraped by with getting to play 2 weeks ago against Jenkins because they was out of school. But this week they was told they "were not" allowed!

i agree with you, mc hasnt played well the past couple of weeks due to sickness and most players that was sick still played anyway. if magoffin is completely healthy and executes they could possibly compete with anybody, and ik for a fact that none of mcs players were afraid to play breathitt, they was ready to shut everyone up and prove to theirselves and everybody else that mr. UT aka channing fugate isn't superman :devilflam

powell was out of school til friday!!! Thats why it was a saturday[u][/u] game!!! Magoffin county did not have to let them make it up. They could have just made them forfeit, but coach mccoy knew that wasnt right! So he allowed them to play on that saturday!!!!!!!!

Yes, they were! Butthey played on that following Saturday, they were allowed to because they was only out of school until Friday. However, Magoffin County is out of school from now, until next tuesday. Therefore, they ARE NOT allowed to play Friday night.

Magoffin was able to play powell because they was able to practice and/or play on friday and coach mccoy is really good friends with the coach from powell and he was being fair and let the other team get some kind of practice in b4 the game on saturday and magoffin has already had their bye week so they dont have an open week to reschedule the game. I think its unfair to the coaches, fans and most importantly the kids to make them have to forfeit the game. But, rules are rules and magoffin goes by the rules. :flame:

Yes, we actually are. I mean, we got beat by Powell County. And Breahitt SMASHED Powell. Just think of what they would have done to us? And yes, I play for Magoffin. Anyways, if all of these Magoffin followers say that we aren't scared, then they are lying. Cause we are terrified.

IMO didnt think it would have been much of a game. Breathitt has been rolling and Magoffin hasnt be that healthy, meaning the flu has hit them. To bad the game has been cancelled. If Estill wins tommrow they are the #2 seed, Powell is the #3 and Magoffin is the #4 playing a good somerset team,

Breathitt can have 3 home games in playoffs I think. The first two will be at home, then we would have to travel to somerset, if they win out, then on from there we could come back to Jackson, before traveling to Bowling Green.
