Very impressive victory for Johnson Central! Glad they got things turned around.
#12

I'm ready for the big non-district game when the Golden Eagles roll into the CAM....maybe this is the year they break into the win column aganst Belfry?
#15
I'm not trying to stir the pot at all, and I am actually rooting for Johnson Central. My only question is this, If Boyle County ran up the score so bad against Johnson Central in a season opener at 49-7 in a game that never saw a running clock and subbed in their JV, with J. Matney wanting to pay a $2,000 buyout of the contract, how can he justify a 69-14 score in the same season? Once again, not trying to stir anything, just asking a legitimate question. I think they have a very high quality program and are well respected, I just think this is a catch 22. Anyone agree or disagree? With this being said, I hope Johnson Central wins out and we play again next year in the opener, it will only make us both better and they are an excellent football program. Best of luck JC!!!
#16
congrats to jc rolling at the right time, hope belfry keeps that speed bump going though, lol, should be a heck of a game, but haywood finds ways to beat those who have played at belfry...

Wow, now thats a win to be proud of! 63 points! looks like matneys back in the saddle and ready to run up the score against anybody! way to go guys!
#18
anybody else notice the large amount of lopsided victories this week?
#19
With Woodford's coach calling plays like he does, they are lucky they don't get beat 100. There drives would last between 30 seconds to a minute and a half. i think one of there possesions was less than 30 seconds for four plays. They threw alot of short incomplete passes. The head coach called the offense for the first half, then he just handed it over to another coach for the second half.

I suprised an Ashland fan could post about Johnson Central and not complain about the music. Maybe they are mellowing out.

I'm really kinda disapointed myself that Matney took it so easy on them in the 2nd half , seeing that this is the same coach that made public statements to the Lexington Herald last year about how bad Woodford would beat JC. How their defense was too good for JC to run on and so on. I beleive we ran for around 700 on them last year too. Kinda sounded just exactly like he was an Ashland fan, ya know!!!lol I'll bet he even studied Class, 101 under Dickie at his Dickie Mouse Institute for Morons there at the Putnam Branch. IDK, perhaps he was even a classmate of yours and BADCAT's back in the 80's or something? Distiguished list of Alumni that have graduated from there, that's for sure. Anyways, backup QB Ross Sanor, played most of the 3rd quarter and Freshman QB, BJ Hamilton played most of the fourth. The kick off return that Woodford scored on was also on the freshmen and JV boys there, slippery elm. Anything else you wanna know? We do need to make sure that you have this right however, we scored 64 points.

And by the way, we also want to emphasize for your own personal benefit that, yes we did

Also wanted to mention that Woodford's QB is the son of former JC basketball standout David Couch ,and the nephew of former UK football defensive captain, Joey Couch.

...and that coach kept doing the same thing. Instead of just trying to get things over, cut their losses, and get out of there while down 43-0, they just keep chucking it all over the field and stopping the clock. I guess they were enjoying their trip to Paintsville so much they wanted to keep everybody out there as long as possible (and they did, with this game FINALLY ending somewhere around 10pm). The running clock could not have come soon enough. Good news is we used all that extra time to get some touchdowns for kids like Sanor and Pelfrey and Dillon who work hard and deserve to see their names in the paper this morning.

I must say, I was a little disappointed with the lack of fan support for both teams last night. I'm going to blame UK for scheduling Big Blue Madness at 7pm on a Friday night. What a way to just thumb your nose at high school sports in your own state. I'd guess crowds were probably down all over the state because of this boneheaded move.

Don't be a piccolo player/hater Elm street! Although my ears are not as sensitve as our pansy rivals in Atown(I guess you can still call it a rivalry) I don't want to here it. JC couldn't help it if Woodford's starting D couldn't stop our JV for most of the second half. Woodford was less physical than Ashland which I thought coming into the game would've been impossible. Great game Eagles! Once again you've proven that this is our district and to all my Eagle brethern in honor of our fourth consecutive district title I'm going to give it to you four times. YE YE YE YE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I think the poster was referencing the statements made by Matney multiple times over the years about teams running the score up on him yet he seems to do the same thing to other teams when he gets the opportunity. Perhaps a little hypocritical if this was the case last night. I wasn't there so I am not sure the scenario. Believe it or not there are times when it is difficult not to score points based on what an opposing team is doing..(continuous passes, defensive turnovers for scores, etc.)

You say he's made that statement multiple times well tell us when he has said that. Where's your proof? After what games has he said that in? I can't understand why you would chime in on this subject when you clearly stated that you wasn't at the game.
