The favorites to get to state are Boyle County (East) & Lone Oak (West).
Bell County has the best shot out of everyone else. Lawrence County & Allen County-Scottsville have a shot, but it doesn't look good for either. West Jessamine will get defeated by Boyle this Friday and does not even have a chance at making it to state IMO.

My opinion
West Jessamine Has beaten Weak teams and will lose this week Big to Boyle County
Boyle County Has the best shot at State.
Allen County Scottsville Will stay unbeaten till the play offs.
Lone Oak is a Team I think that no one out East give cridit to. They have a good chance to win it all.
Lawrence County has had a great turn around from last season 0-10 record. the only game left in this season that could cause them to not go undeafeted in the season is Rowan County. I could see them going to the third round.

I agree that Lawrence County has had the biggest turn around from last season

doesn't the team with the best record get home field advantage if so if lawrence wins out wouldnt bell county come to louisa?

With all due respect to Bell County (Surely this will upset some of their "fans"), I can't see anybody beating Boyle this season. The Rebels simply have no weaknesses on either side of the ball.
Boyle does turn the ball over too often, which could prove to be what costs them in the long run (see last years game at Bell).
Lone Oak coming out of the west is a bit of mystery to us central Kentucky fans. It appears that they are the real deal though.
West Jessamine has improved by leaps and bounds. They are unbeaten so they must be good. The problem is that they have feasted on week competition. That all ends this Friday when they take on Boyle County. Win that one and we'll be talking about WJ and state titles. I don't think that will happen though and West's unbeaten season will come to an end against the Rebels.
I know next to nothing about the others so really can't comment.

I think 4a should have an exciting playoffs this year, it will be interesting to see who plays who?
10-12-2009, 10:48 AM
I guess we will wait and i think bell is the favorite as long as they get better and not worse because if they get beter...they will turn boyle over like we did last year...

Good defense will expose some weaknesses that is all I will say.

I think Bell and Lawrence would be a good game, alot better than what some people would think. Except last year when they played I think these two teams had some good games like in 200 when bell came to lawrence and won 8-0 in the playoffs. dontae wright had a punt return for a td but it was called back.

Did you go to the game last year. If so, how can you validate sucha comment. I do think that LC has made a tremendous turn around this season but to say they would give Bell a good game is kinda reaching IMO.
10-12-2009, 11:02 AM
yes i was at this game last season and it wasn't close at all i understand that, but lawrenc played a really tough schedule last season and the year before and it has helped them alot. I know Bell is tough and i'm aware of what they can do, but lawrence county's defense is only giving up 11 point a game on average and scoring 48.5 per game on offense. Alot teams having problems running against the Bulldogs, I'm just saying I think it would be a good game.
10-12-2009, 11:22 AM
You apparently haven't seen Bell's O line and thier stable of running backs and did I mention our defense?

I'm pretty sure it's not best record is best seed, the higher seeded team has the home game. If tied in seed the Region Championship, the odd district host the game on odd years and the even district host on even years. This is 2009 So, Bell is in district #7 which is odd, Bell host Lawerence (district #8) if they meet.

No Lawrence would travel to Bell. Bell would have went to Boyd last year but Knox beat them. So it is district 7's turn to host the regional finals. Odd years host this season.

I guess you're basing Boyle winning the state based on what besides seeing Boyle play? If you have? Have you watched Bell play?
I don't compare teams by who they play but, Boyle struggled against Lex Cath. I've seen them play this year. Not one bit impressed by them. Weakest I have seen Lex Cath in years. But, I won't use that to say Bell is better. I just hope they get to play each other in the semi's. We'll have to wait and see.

Just for curiousity sake, what is Bell's weaknesses? I know you say Boyle doesn't have any, so what is Bell's?

Im thinking most of the time not to dignify with a response, but I WAS at last years game, you may have won......but not by some huge margin you can get bragging rights about turning anybody out....recall the score my friend....no bragging rights there...leave it alone. Bell won, thats LAST YEAR!

Besides I think this is mute point. I am not convinced Lawerence can beat Knox Central.
Boyle should be the favorite they return a bunch of players and have a good transfer playing QB. They have what should be Mr. Football in Mcshara and the best LB in the state in Dawson and a HUGE number of seniors. They should win it all.
Bell is very young and is in a rebuilding year with just 6 seniors.

with all due respect Boyle fans i don't think we have a shot in **** of beating you guys this Friday. But if Jesus returns to earth and walks on water and we end up being our districts representative i want us to be the visitors so we can go see what log mountain is all about.

Boyle/Bell have an equal chance...
Lone Oak has a good chance because they could very easily be undefeated until the Finals.
Everyone else will lose at some point.

bell or boyle from east and lone oak from west there no one on west side to stop them, they are for real and think they will give whoever shows up from the east a good game, not sure if they can win it, but you never know..

I saw Bell play Marion County and was not all impressed with Bell's team speed or the play at quarterback. Bell does have decent size up front. I also have to look at Bells 4 TD loss to Alcoa. Great teams don't lose by 4 TD's at home to anybody. Take away that big loss and Bell's schedule has been suspect.
If you thought that Boyle struggled with Lex Cath then you must have been watching a different game than me. Boyle lead throughout the game, ran the ball at will, and stuffed the Knights running game. This weak Lex Cath team is better than anyone on Bell's schedule except for Alcoa, who Bell lost to by 4TDs.
Boyle has a much better running game, better quarterback, and better defense (especially at LB) than Bell and will be playing them at home if indeed they do meet.
I hope that clears it up a little bit for you.

This Topic has got out of hand. This thread has nothing to do with Bell. lets get back on topic and talk about the 5 unbeaten teams and there chances.

Hey buckeye you need to see Bell now much improved from when you saw them play. I am glad that is the way you feel because you could be in for a shock if it comes down to Bell vs. Boyle.
