If Belfry comes into the game with the same mindset as last week SC wins, but if we come in with the intensity of the Whitley game Belfry shouldn't have a problem.
Belfry wins 35-14

busclover,
Any way you can put a word in and have this game postponed an extra 20 or 30 minutes Friday? I have to battle that Atlanta traffic on my way to Auburn and fear I may have to miss the start of the game. HAHA

I would like to see SC win but I think Belfry will be ready for homecomeing. Good luck both teams.

Homecoming on Pond Creek this friday?? Wow now thats something too get Sheldon Clark fired up.

Its not a slight against Sheldon Clark. Belfry's home schedule is pretty good in terms of competition, you can't just schedule a patsy for an easy homecoming win.
There is good reasons not to have homecoming every other week except that one.
Aug 28 Boyd Co (too early)
Sep 04 Ashland (too early)
Oct 02 Pikeville (no school that day, Traditionally "Hall of Fame" night. With no Hall of Fame entries this year, they used this game as a tribute to Belfry's first team to make it to the State Championship and had a 1979 Honors Ceremony in place of the Hall of Fame ceremony)
Oct 14 Sheldon Clark (only viable option)
Oct 30 Johnson Central (senior night)

Belfry doesnt have school this friday and frequent rallies at school usually gets the entire team pumped. But seeing as there will be TONS of Pirate fans at the cam, that gives the Pirates an advantage.

Just curious, what happened last year? I just moved back to the area and all i could get last year was scores on khsaa.

I don't know of anything either except that SC proclaimed that it was "their year" and Belfry proceeded to take them behind the woodshed on their homefield, as well in the playoffs at CAM.

Belfry will have to play their best game to date to have a chance at victory against the Cards. IMO, you'll see more of the "Tomcat" formation..in an effort to slow down a hard charging defense.
While Williams has gradually improved at the QB spot....he's still no threat to keep it on the option...and our fullbacks have simply not delivered consistently to properly set up Haywood's vaunted Bone offense. Also, Belfry's lack of overall size may be taking a toll as the season continues to wear on.
Without making a prediction....I still say that SC is the team to beat in the district.

Williams has a bright future and is 10X better than the Pburg game, but when PC devoted to taking away the pitchman and daring the QB to keep the ball you could tell he was reulctant and it resulted in a couple critical fumbles.
One play I would love to see used early in the game is for the QB to playfake to the FB and then follow him right back through the hole on a keeper. A couple positive gains by Williams doing this would build his confidence and also force the LB's to hesitate on the belly series which could be the difference in an option pitch for 3 yards and an option pitch for 30 yards.

I cannot wait to see this game!!! I look forward to it every time the two teams play at Pond Creek. It's always a great game, tremendous atmosphere! Fans from both sides are into it! The air is cold!! Great, great game...ALWAYS!!
I think in this game, playing at home will ultimately be the x-factor for the Pirates...Belfry by <7.
