Pike Central dominates total yards but have 4 Turnovers.

Belfry going through the motions and PC is stacking 10 in box and shutting down Belfry's offense. Pirates fortunate not to give up a TD at end of Half.
#40
Lets hope we see a different Pirate team after half time, Like EKU said they are just going through the motions.
#41
Runyon gains 3...
Maynard to 43, 3rd and 2.
Runyon on FB dive for 5, 1st and 10.

Varney powers for 4 to PC 47, 2nd and 6.
Varney fumbles toss and PC recovers.
1st and 10 PC.
#43
Very lackluster effort thus far for the Pirates. This could be just the kind of game Belfry needs going into the biggest game of the year next week. You have got to hand it to PC, they've stepped up, came ready to play and are in the perfect situation to pull a major upset.
#44
Meade gains 4 to B44, 2nd and 6.
Pirates really sleepwalking, but give credit to Coach Chapman's defensive scheme,.

McGuire play fakes and has big gain to the 25. 1st and 10 PC

Yep a scheme that almost always gives Belfry fits. Put 10 in the box, have some decent athletes and you can shut down almost any Pirate offense. Belfry MUST find a way to at least complete a few passes every game if they expect a long playoff run.
#48
McGuire to the 6, 2nd and Goal
Meade TOUCHDOWN PIKE CENTRAL!

6 yard TD run.

I guess the sidelines is showing a little more effort than the players on the field. Confusedhh:

McGuire keeps for 2...

Belfry 12
PC 8

7:57 left in 3rd

Belfry needs to spread PC out IMO....

Carroll recovers at 35, 1st and 10 B
#52
Carroll at FB, he is stuffed. 2nd and 10.
Varney nice run to PC 45, 1st and 10 on 20 yd gain.
#53
So what's the plan? Do we stay in the conventional offense and try to outrun 10 in the box? Or do we move Varney to QB and run some wildcat?
#54
Varney on the option pitch, gains 9. 2nd and 1.
Belfry starting to work outside a little more.
Carroll muscles to 34, 1st and 10.
#55

IMO both.... gotta stretch them laterally then throw some wrinkles in and make them react.
#56
Varney for 3, 2nd and 7.
Varney tries to bounce outside and gains 2, 3rd and 5.
Option keeps on option, fumbles, and PC recovers
Uhoh.....
#57
The young QB has got to hold on to the ball there...that was a huge fumble and huge drive and ball protection is critical.

McGuire stuffed for a loss
McGuire gains out to 34, 3rd and 7.
McGuire keeps for big gain and he is down at the 1.

1st and Goal

Yep, I cant figure out why our coaches havent been able to figure out this 10 in the box defense. When you dont have the dominant offensive line and speed burner HBs (Jones, Howard, etc.) you have to find a way to make defense play you honest. The one pass that is always open against this type of defense is the little dump pass in the flat to either a tightend or the first back through on the belly and yet we never find a way to utilize this play.
#59
*FALSE START PC*
1st and Goal at 6.
#60
Meade stuffed for nothing.. 2nd and Goal
McGuire gets corner and takes it in... TOUCHDOWN PIKE CENTRAL!

Aaron McGuire 6 yard TD run.
