Middlesboro Losing Players
#61
MiddlesboroAlumni Wrote:Anyone hear any new updates on this situation today? I've heard a few things, but I was hoping that others would post first.

I'm sure they will work it out. NO DISCIPLINE and when they come back all will be lost. It is time for a change at the top.

I agree. Roark never really was much on discipline. That's something all great football teams have. That may be one of the reasons why M'boro hasn't seen hardly any success in recent years.

I'm not going to post the rumor I have heard, because it may not be true. Hopefully the guys at WYMT can let us know more in the next couple of weeks.

MiddlesboroAlum you have me curious now about the new news. I guess tomorrow I will have to get a hold of my Middlesboro contact and try to find out. Come on now you can tell us. Just put rumor in with it. Thats how this thread started was on a rumor.

Will this be Middlesboro's first game since these players were kicked off? What positions did these players play? Were they some of their better players ?

The Jackets were open this week. Most teams would take advantage of being off a week and would be working to figure out how they would make adjustment for such losses on the team. Not coach Kenny, the extra work would be too exhausting for him. Besides he knows he's got it figured out.

Starting RB/LB ,back up RB and OL/DL

Cody Smith will carry the load the rest of the season for the Jackets , He is a fine RB and we'll be A-OK!!!

Before the season started you said Mboro would be fine!losing key players in last four years Mboro has lost bunch talent.I think you're clueless about Mboro.Yes they have had success in recent years.

Obviously, something very bad has happened in Middlesboro. From TN, we wish the best for the team and hope that things will all work out for you. For the Middlesboro kids that play the next game, we wish you success.

Well tell me Mr. Metaljacket, what sort of success have they had? Of course they have had winning seasons, but I'm talking about success competing on the elite level in 2A and in the Mountains like we are used to. M'boro was always a top Mountain team and have slowly gotten away from that in the last eight or ten years. Don't get me wrong, I was a Roark supporter at the beginning of the season. Although hearing what I've heard, I'm all for giving him the boot.

Another thing, since I don't live in Middlesboro any longer, it's a little tougher to keep up with them obviously. If you have ever read any of my posts whatsoever you would already know that. You're calling me clueless? :eyeroll:

Like I said in another thread, let's let the rumors keep dieing down until the end of the season and worry about getting through the rest of the games.

The way I remember it, Middlesboro had started to struggle until Roark took over and built them back up to a state power.
Middlesboro just doesn't have very much talent right now. Anyone who saw the junior high team play the past few years knew they would drop off soon.

How much of an impact is the success of the Bell County football program having on the Yellow Jackets talent level?

Starting Center for Middlesboro Devon Akers is also out for the year now. He was in a bad car wreck late Monday night on 25E between Middlesboro and Pineville.
