Turnovers, I also think the key turning point was when Paintsville blocked a Pikeville Fg in the 4th and the ball rolled into the endzone and Pikeville fell on it for a TD.

Also Sounded like pikeville came out and play some defense tonight. Like we all knew they were capable of.

That TD was taken off the scoreboard...the big difference was when backup QB John Michael Mayo took over the offense in the 2nd half down 14-0 and led the Panthers all the way back for the win.
#14
So it was a TD. I wasn't for sure from the way the update thread read.
#15
OK so it didn't count then. Thanks PHS. You know QQ he can't get anything straight. He had me thinking LCC was winning by 28 and it turns out they only scored 7 and got blown out.

Just joking QQ. LOL
#16
I said in the updates the score was taken off the scoreboard.

The turning point in the game came when Hans Doderer went down with a broken collar bone ?????????? Paintsville lost a lot of momentum at that time. They were up 14-0 midway in the 2nd when Hans went down. The Tigers were deep in Pikeville territory. If they had taken it in at that point, I really think the Tigers would have won this game going away. They were not the same team after not scoring.

At that time, Pikeville picked up some momentum and they just built on it during halftime. Pikeville played pretty good in the 3rd quarter. You could see it in both team's eyes.

Good luck to both teams next week.
#22
I didn't know he got hurt...that is a big loss for the Tigers.
#23
Losing Doderer will really hurt Paintsville. Didn't Hans break his collarbone last year?
#24
Congrats to Pikeville

This is a huge blow to Paintsville...hopefully someone will step for them. I really wish Pikeville was traveling to Paintsville next week instead of Lynn Camp with Doderer out even though I know that isnt possible. Good luck to the Tigers from here on out..if Pikeville doesn't win the Region I hope the Tigers bring the region 4 title back too Paintsville High School. I really hate to see this happen to Doderer, esp. right before the playoffs...I know that has to kill him.
#26
Man that really hurts especially now that it turns out the outcome didn't affect the playoff spots.
#27
Congrats Pikeville!
#28
WYMT said that it was just a shoulder injury...does anyone know that it wasn't his collarbone or is it for sure a broken collarbone that will sideline for the rest of the season I would think....I hope it isnt a break and he can return this year.

Here is all it plays out in district 8 I believe.
1st seed-Paintsville
2nd seed-Pikeville
3rd seed-Hazard
4th seed-Phelps

The way I understand it if Pikeville plays Fairview and Betsy Layne instead of NCC and Belfry then they are the district champs...that just doesn't seem right to me. This tiebreaker needs to be looked at because teams are being penalized for playing tough non-district schedules. NCC and Belfry will have them more prepared though going into the playoffs.

Now I am hearing Hazard get the 2 seed and Pikeville the 3 seed...I give up on trying to figure this out if anyone knows for sure please let me know.
