Lafayette has some major weapons. Have you seen the size of their offensive tackle?..massive. They have enough team speed that 1 mistake can cost you points. They also force you to put drives together because they are fast enough to stop long TD runs.

In all seriousness you hold Boyle to an unrealistic standard. Lafayette defeated Henry Clay last week and maybe very well be one of the 25 best teams in Kentucky. I am not sure any KY team could beat them 45-0.

i think boyle will win this one but i hope lafayette beats them by two touchdowns..maybe then bell will get the respect they deserve in 4A....

i think the only 1a school Boyle played was Pikeville. They were committed to the bowl game long before they knew their competition. I don't understand...Is Bell not getting respect? They have them ranked pretty high as well.

They get respect but how can u be rankes above someone if the last time ypu played they beat you.. i know it was in 08 but you know that carriess over to the next season even in college if win a national championship your usallt preseason number 1 ..Am i right o not...No disrespect toward boyle fans.....Just curious

You believe that Breathitt County will beat Belfry?

Johnson Central is the best 5A team in the mountains and should beat Ashland Friday?

I can see what you're saying and you're partly right IMO. But, Bell is undefeated in the state. Beechwood, Breathitt, and JC have terrible records. That's not a fair comparison either.
In the long run it doesn't matter. I much rather be #2 as #1 anyway. Hopefully Bell and Boyle meet up to answer this question.

I agree with you...just pointing out that the logic that the poster was using about a team not moving down because they won head to head the previous year is very flawed at best.

no now im relating this strictly to 4a bell is no breathitt beechwood or johnson central bell actually has won thir share of games this year...
but in preseason aand week 1 was them teams not ranked number one heck breathitt is still in the top 20...

I might as well agree boyle was ahead of us last year and everyone saw what happened..hope the bobcats do it again this year...

I guess you can look at it either way. To me, Bell should be #1 but in the end it really doesn't matter. I don't know who the better team is, but based on last year's success and continuing it this year there was no reason not to rank them #1.
My gosh, I know that we have an argument if you compare it to the ranking of St.X and Trinity ranked higher than Ft. Thomas. lol What a joke. Can either team beat Ft. Thomas? Who knows? But, for now, Ft. Thomas definitely deserves to be #1.

I was wrong, I am not to proud to admit that, but the year is not over and I still hold out hope that my prediction will prove accurate, even though I am doubting it at this point. I was not being critical, just that 08 is not 09, that is not an opinion, but a fact. A person can not hang their prediction on what happened last season, a lesson I have learned the hard way...

ok 09 is not 08 but bell was dang good last year.. and they are better this year and they haved proved that not being beat by a moutain team in two or three years.....bet you wish breathitt could say the same

I know you don't win a game or prove how good you are this year based on last year's team. I just don't understand how Bell isn't ranked #1 in 4A but all in all it doesn't matter. If we play Boyle and they beat us, I'll be the first to say they are the better team. So, the easiest way to find out is to hopefully play each other.

You know as well as I that rankings in high school mean nothing. If these teams are as good as ranked, they will meet on the field and settle it there.
