How many of you in favor of having a play clock installed at your school? I personally would love it, i have been at a couple of schools and really loved it, I think it helps the teams getting in and out of huddle. I am pretty sure Belfry has one in there Beautiful play the play ball at now.:theman:

I think it would be a great addition for any team. It's hard to guess the exact time remaining on the playclock for the coaches and players if its only on the referees arm. I think it would be nice to have a big digital clock in every H.S. field that displays the play clock.

Prestonsburg has a play clock but they don't use because the refs don't go by it

Yea they do 15th Pburg uses our playclock, dont you remember this yr VS belfry the refs was looking at the play clock but the back judge still keeps the time

Would love it if it would be used properly.

It would be great but alot of places seem to have enough trouble running the time clock i couldn't imagine the screwups if they had a play clock to reset every down

Yeah, Belfry has playclocks installed and are being used.

This year, when Belfry & P-burg were playing..the playclock on the lower end of the field wasn't working. We were talking about it in the stands.

Wasn't that only when Belfry was on offense?
Just joking. LOL

An efficiently and correctly working playclock that the officials would use would be nice for any team to have IMO.

I am positive it was working at one time in the game b.c. I looked at it and the time had expired and the ref turned around to check to see if he was right and he called a delay of game, but maybe it quit after I left with 10 minutes to go in the 4th so IDK your probably right

I think one would see many more delays called.
A lot of officials let delay go 26,27, even 28 seconds before flagging it.

I'm positive. It was in the second half of the game (not sure which quarter), Belfry had the ball going towards the lower end of the field. It seemed as if Jordan was in the huddle a little long and we looked toward the play clock on the low end of the field and it wasn't on at all. Then we looked at the one at the school end and it wasn't on either. I know that the one on the school end was working in the beginning of the game because we watched it a couple of times.
I don't know if it was on during the entire game and was just not reset during this particular play, but I can promise it wasn't on at least once or twice.
Trust me, one thing that we as Pirate fans look for in a game is a delay of game call, so we are watching the play clocks.:thumb:

Cat Dawg nailed it. The clock only ran when Prestonsburg had the ball. It was turned off when Belfry had the ball.
