I think that Carla Booth and Taylor Hott are hands down the best guards in the 15th region. Hott has speed and plays excellent defense, while Booth can handle the ball very well. Their both in the same grade and I'm sure when they play against each other it will be a great game. Megan Hamilton is a great player from Betsy Layne too..shes Betsy Laynes best shooter. Amanda Jarrell is also a good player from Paintsville.

You have to admire powerade girls charisma!
there will be talented players aplenty in the region this season
thats a given. And i think it would be wonderful if everyone
would get as excited as she seems to be about her schools
team. in our area girls teams have always been an afterthought
or placed on a backburner by the media (radio and newspapers)
and it was a privalege when our girls played against those teams from
citys or countys that would broadcast games as we could listen in.
if everyone enthusistacally supported there teams like some who knows
what could happen?

i think JJ Bevins from belfry is one of the top guards in the region as well. she does quite well against carla booth when the two meet. shes a great player but she just doesnt have the team around her as booth and hott do. you gotta give this girl some credit.

i believe she is the best player in the 15th too. go to the khsaa's website and look at her stats. shes prolly one of the most consistent players i have seen in a while. one game she didnt miss a shot from the free throw line, behind the arc or anything. now tell me if booth or hott have ever done that.

I already said that I agreed with you that she was a really good player. But you cant put Hott and Booth down. They are just as good. No I'm sure Hott and
Booth havent went all game without missing a shot but that doesnt mean their not good players. Hott is the best defensive player in the region, no doubt...and Booth handles the ball better than anyone in the region. Just because Bevins didnt miss a shot in a game doesnt make her the best player out there.

The girl from Belfry is good playr but to say she is better than Booth, I don't think so. Booth lit up Phelps for 38 and 34 points last season and led her team toi the final four of the All A was she as named all tournament. well if i do recall she lit up phelps with about 33. wait til u see her play against booth and u will know what im talking about when i say shes the real deal. the only reason why she isnt noticed as much as booth and hott is because her team only won 6 games last year. im not gonna say anymore just watch her this coming season and her game will speak for its self

i never said they werent good i just said that there not the only good players in the region. no doubt they r two of the top of not the top two players in the region but all i was saying is u should see the girl from belfry play as well.

you cant name one girl that held her under 20 last year in the region and there wasnt one girl that scored over 20 on her.

No disrespect to other girls cause I'm sure they all work hard, but trust me and believe me when I tell you, Carla Booth is THE BEST PLAYER IN THE 15TH REGION. She can score anytime she wants too, the problem is that she is so unselfish and wants to make her teammates better. I shouldnt have said "problem" since that what all great ones do. If she was a selfish player and chose to do so, she could average 40 points per game. She's not though. She's an outstanding young lady who treats opponents, refs, and adults with respect. She's also a pretty good soccer player as well:notworthy

Thats because she thinks she is the team. Booth is a better team player than Bevins. One girl can not score every point and still win games. You have to play as a team and Belfry has not done that in 3 years hope it changes this year.

J J is a very good player,but this season she may not even be the best player on the team,with Staten coming back,Belfry has the talent to really surprise everyone this season,teams will overlook them because of their season last year.J J always plays Booth tough,and I do believe she scored over 20 ih Booth last season.

I totally agree...J.J. is a good player but she won't be the go to person this year on the team. It will be Staten and McCoy, and you are right people will overlook them because of the past couple of years.

I think they have 2 really good coaches and the girls should have a great season and have alot of fun this year. I look forward to watching them play.

Agree with Bigsis22,Belfry has a new coaching staff and trust me they know basketball,and are respected by the girls.They will be small,but very athletlic,and yes most played last season and if I remember correctly,their games with SC,your favorite to win it all,was very close games,add Staten,and McCoy,and I like their chances.These girls were Co champs as 8 th graders,and throw in Stack now,watch out.irateSho

everybody but staten played last year if i do recall, and yes they do have a new coaching staff. but mccoy needs to work on her jumper and she will be a force in the region IMO.
