Something needs to be done over at Burch cause that was a bad called game it was they worst game ive played in in my life people..the ref's was so bad.

Care to elaborate?

There has to be something that happened because I've watched both teams and Phelps is better than Burch. We need more details.

Either Phelps didn't come to play or from the first post the Refs Decided this game.

Phelps was there and ready to play. However, there must be different rules in WV. Any time a Hornet hit a bulldog it was unneccesary roughness...it was insane. The refs def. decided this game. I would say the decision was made before Phelps even made it to the field. I have watched many games and this is by far the worst officiating I have EVER seen. Phelps had close to 85 yards in penalties...Burch...possibly 20 if that many. The flags were only being thrown for Phelps. If they did throw the flag on Burch, the refs would stand in the middle and conversate, then take the flag back. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE

Last week BL played Burch and had over 200 yards in penalties and still won. I thought Phelps would just out score them.

I've seen this happen more and more lately. Are these refs so inexperienced that have to have a panel to make the call? I can't remember where it was, but last year I actually saw the ref's pull out a book at midfield and discuss the call. After about 6 minutes the head official finally stepped up and showed the signs to the crowd for the penalty etc... I know football officials are hare to come by, but the constant stopping of the clock while the officials discuss calls is overboard. I'm sure at time the teams appreciate and need that little "time out" but I'd say it has also hurt some teams momentum in the situation.

I figured the Hornet's would outscore them also. However when you can't make it past the 20 yardline because everything is called back, how can a team score?:devilflam

I know what you mean, if the bobcats wouldnt have jumped on them early I dont know what the result would be.

geez.... aren't y'all familiar with the good ol' home-cookin' over at Matewan??? And with the Tigers on the road, well, someone had to feast!

Matewan and Burch are different schools... Yes, the same state (WV) but totally different schools....
I got told by someone from neither school who just went to watch a friends child play that if Phelps tackled the back, a penalty was called... several times... They either had to let them run or they got called for something... Even got told that there was a "roughing the kicker" call that should have been called on Burch but that wasn't called either. They said that if Burch had 15 yards in penalities it was a stretch... IMHO, I feel like these ref's need to quit worrying about redemption and let the kids play! Be honest and if you see a penalty, call it. If you don't then let the game continue! Teach these young men some morals and be honest and upstanding.
Heck, it's football, they are gonna get hit!! LOLOL....

I get what you was saying and agree.
Why teams from Ky schedule any team from Mingo Co. is beyond me because when you go there its not a matter of getting screwed, its just how bad your going to get it.

If Matewan comes into town Friday via 460, they'll pass right by my house, so I better tone it down a little.
