Best RB ever to play at your school?
#1
For Paintsville it would definately be Mike "The Missile" Minix.
#2
Sheldon Clark has had some good ones in the past. Rusty Whitt stands out in my mind as a good one, Moe Spradlin and Ben Delong were both also impressive. My personal favorite would have to be Brad Tiller though. He didn't play football his senior year, but he was as exciting as anyone I have ever laid eyes on. Probabley the fastest football player I have ever seen in person. I have seen a tape against Tug Valley where he touches the football 6 times and scores 6 touchdowns (He took a kickoff back to the house, but SC was flagged for clipping, and when they re-kicked he ran it back also. So only 5 of his touchdowns counted and he only gets credit for 5 touches as well, but he still scored 6 touchdowns on 6 touches). That was touches too, not carries, touches. He is without a doubt the best have ever seen.

South Floyd - Ketrin Mays....man he had some quick feet and played on a good team. It seemed like no one could ever get a good hit on him.
#4
Matt Slone, John Ortega, Seth Hyden, Dwayne Garza
#5
Belfry - Doug Howard, David Jones, Micah Caudill, Jonah Caudill & Russell Carter...Im sure there's more but I can't think of them right now. I'm sure Happy Gilmore could list a few....
#6
for SF it is BJ Bryant... what he lacked in talent, which wasn't much, he made up in heart.
#7
For Ashland:
1. Juan Thomas
2. Jason Nichols
3. Jack Smith (though was always injured)
4. Arliss Beach
#8
so did juan thomas go to any college? tomcat?

I say John Ortega, Matt Slone, Seth Hyden in that order....
#9
I'll ask my brother because he's older and knows a little more about the past than I do, but if I remember correctly, he didn't play any football after high school. Instead he was drafted into baseball where he has spent many many years with AAA afiliates for numerous MLB teams. He is nicknamed "The Large Human." He was a prominent homerun hitter for many years. I haven't heard much about him as of late.

3. David Branham(bruiser)
4. Scott Combs(big strong back)
5. Benny Grigsby(only at PC for first 2 years)

Add Larry Paul Thornsberry to that list.. He was a pretty good back.. But he was only there for 2 years i think..

It's crazy how amazing of a tradition the Belfry backfield has undergone... IMO it goes:
1.Doug Howard
2.David Jones
3.Mikey Scott
4. Greg Varney
5.Micah Caudill

...if Dwight Stepp had not had off the field reasons to quit football IMO he would be in the top 3.

All though I'm a Paintsville fan, #17 is #1 in the record books at JC. The ones I've seen from JC.

1. Ron Blume
2. Scott Salyer
3. Josh Banks
4. Mike Bowlin
5. Stacey Johnson

Another great player that comes to my mind from Sheldon Clark is John Stafford he was a really good football player and a great running back. I remember them playing Johnson Central and Sheldon Clark won by 2 touchdowns and both of them was scored by John on a kick off return. So he was won of my favorite running backs from sheldon clark and was very tough and could take hits.
#29
1. George "The Bowling Ball" Duvall
2. Melvin "Mercury" Miles
3. Billy "The Kid" Samad
#30
