who do you think will win......my guess would be jackson city

I'll go with Breathitt with Jackson and Wolfe playing for 2nd.

Will this district be improved this year. I know Wolfe County finished strong last year but this once proud district has turned into the doormat of the 14th region the last couple of years. Everyone wants to draw them in the first round of the region. It would be the same for the girls if it wasn't for Breathitt County. You could combine the girls teams at Wolfe County, Jackson City, and Riverside and you still wouldn't be a top five team in the 14th region.

It looks to me like Wolfe will be down, so will Breathitt. I'm picking Jackson City to win it.

I think Wolfe co will repeat this year in the district led by the best player in the district senior Deron Terrill...

I would have to pick Wolfe again, but it really doesn't matter, you could take all 4 of the teams best players and play in the region and they still wouldn't have enough talent to play with the 53rd or 54th district!

Agreed

Its back basketball is just around the corner

If Breathitt plays like they did this summer they will win the district. They need to keep the up tempo style.

Wolfe County should be a narrow choice just in front of Breathitt County. Jackson City 3rd followed by Riverside Christian in last place.

Breathitt should win the district this year. With Noble leading the bobcats, I think that Breathitt has a good chance at making some noise in the region also.

The 55th District should be an interesting contest this year. The Wolfe County Wolves have to be the favs after their performance in the Region last year, and Deron Terrill is a HORSE. However look for the Jackson City Tigers to be much improved under the guidance of new head Coach Karmit Back. They should be a lot more fun to watch this year with Pedro Sierra pushing the tempo. Keys to success will be the improvement of Josh Hollan down low, and whether or not Zack Gayheart can provide a consistent half court scoring threat. The Tigers need a consistent outside shooter to step up as well. Breathitt will also have a say in this District, but they will go one way or the other. They'll either win it or finish just ahead of the lowly Riverside Rams. They will have no shortage of athleticism with Taulbee Fugate and Haddix in the lineup, and Blue Terry will provide an outside shooting threat. If Nick Noble can get healthy and provide a consistent ball handler Breathitt could make some noise and go deep in the region.

Breathitt looked good this summer. I think they'll win it.

That is a perfect pre-season analysis.

I would take Breathitt by a pretty good margin in this district. Wolfe and Jackson have some pretty good guard play, but Breathitt is deep and will be right at the top of the list behind the big 3 (KCC, PCC and Hazard).

Breathitt will win district I think. JC and WC are talented but I think Breathitt will pull off a good win against WC in a rematch for the district title this year. As far as region I want to wait and see how they play during the season.

over the summer i watched alot of the 55th district play and what suprised me was the shooters of breathitt blue terry and billy hays these boys can light it up if hays stays of ir then i believe breathitt with the drive of taulbee and noble handling and the presents of 2 three point shooters could cause a defence to think twice bout breathitt
09-22-2009, 11:07 AM
I dont get were ppl think deron terrill is the best player in the 55th it was luck that they beat breathitt last year i say breathitt will destroy them this year
09-23-2009, 11:34 AM
jackson city looks like they will be good this year
09-24-2009, 06:39 PM

Jackson City is going all the way
09-25-2009, 01:34 AM
All the way to the regional tournament and get beat.
09-25-2009, 11:03 AM
Are you stupid or just plain out dumb??? Deron Terrill owned Breathitt last year in the district no one could stop him. He got to the rim anytime he wanted and scored at will.. So before you leave a comment like that you might need to look in the trophy case and see who has the championship trophy.

I think you may need to look at yourself as being dumb or stupid or that you cannot read. If you reread my statement it states "all the way to the regional tournament and get beat". That did not state they would lose to Breathitt in the DISTRICT. It states when they got to the regional tournament they would get beat. This district is by far the weakest in the region and no one in this district has a shot.

Don't forget about Breathitt's talented Freshman Trent.

It's gonna be like it is every year. 1.Breathitt 2.Wolfe 3.Jackson City 4.Riverside

55th District is very week when you look beyond Breathitt and Wolfe. But to say they dont have a shot in region. Think thats kind of shooting the gun. Either Breathitt or Wolfe can make some noise in region. And if teams in region go into a game overlooking them, then they could be in for a rude awakening.

im sick and tired of hearing about terrill a blind squrriel gets a nut every now and then but i mean come on that was luck what about blue terry getting fouled at half court when he tried to put up a shot but noone looks at that but it dont matter its a new year we will see who cuts the net this year
