Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig told fanhouse.com "nobody has lobbied me" regarding the possibility of reinstating all-time hits leader Pete Rose.

And GOD knows I want Pete in the HOF just as much if not more than anyones else. He was my all time favorite player!

My brother in-law drank a few beers with Tommy Helms Friday (Anyone in the NKY area, Tommy is at the Bellevue Vets around 3:00 PM, every Friday) this past Firday. Tommy is best friends with Pete, and spent some time with Pete when he was in town last weekend. Tommy posed the question to Pete and Pete replied that there is no way in **** he gets in as long as Fay Vincent is still alive. He said that there is no basebll commissioner that will ever trump what Fay did. Makes sense to me.

Funny side note, Tommy signed an autograph for my brother-inlaw, and signed it "Tommy Helms 1966 ROY". My borther in-law, looked at it in puzzlement, and couldn't help but ask "Hey Tommy, who is Roy", Tommy looked at him like the dummy that he is and said, That stands for "Rookie of the Year"..... My brother in-law got the autograph for my 16 year-old, who of course has ZERO clue who Tommy Helms is....

Didn't Tommy take the place of another former Cincinnati Red ROY at second base?

Anyone know who that was?

Peter Edward Rose. Who replaced Tommy at 2B, but arguably the best 2B in the games history!!!!
