13 Ghosts is defintely my favorite, but Ghost Ship is right there with them.

Seven is in a class all by it's own!

I've not got into any recent horror movies. It's not a genre that I've ever really liked as most of them made now are very similar and predictable. The Texas Chainsaw Massacres were the ones that I liked. I have the original re-released on DVD and the two more recent ones. I think that The Ring was pretty interesting. The first Saw was good, after that not so much. I really need to watch some classic horror films but not the cheesy ones that ended up in the $1 pile at any store.

I finally watched it last night..It was a good movie

I watched it and thought it was good, but not great - for a couple reasons.

Too many cheap scares; and by that I mean too many shocking, make you jump out of your seat type stuff. Whatever happened to just plain freaky stuff? The 1980's movie "The Changeling" is a great example of being creepy/scary and not relying heavily on cheap scares.

Also, I was a fan of the original "A Haunting" series on the Discovery Channel. Those one hour episodes were more like documentaries with scenes recreated for television and seemed more realistic to me. I remember watching "A Haunting: In Connecticut" a couple years ago and this movie seemed nothing like that show, even though it's supposed to be based on the same story. After digging for the "true story" I found out that the families story is very, very different from what's portrayed in the movie. I mean, the stories start out similar, but the ending of the movie is much more dramatic then what really happened.

I know that they plan on making at least two more "The Haunting's" in the future: The Haunting in New York and The Haunting in Georgia...I believe. I just hope they do these future "true" stories more justice than this film did.
