Did Rose Hill top two scores from last year really not attend their basketball camp?

Ashland looks like the team to beat. Not really a star on the team but they play smart.

No disrespect to the Fairview team but to have them ranked ahead of Rose Hill is off a little. I saw a lot of the Aries league games and Rose Hill beat them pretty good twice if I am not wrong. Ashland looked like the first or second best team there, Rose Hill was up and down and Fairview played hard but is very small and young.

Why didn't they go to camp?

I'm hearing the four kids that played for Rose Hill last year will not be playing this year. I really hope this is not true, with the exception of Vanover is any of this true. Can anyone shed some light on this?
1. Marie Friley
2. Kayla Day
3. Claire Virgin
4. McKenzie Vanover (transferred to Verity)

I know that two of them did not go to the camp a couple of weeks ago, according to an earlier post on here. Not sure why a player would miss their team's camp. If this is true it will be a big blow to them.

Vanover will be an asset to the Kitten softball program, she is quite a pitcher and if she plays basketball she will help Verity as well. Losing Virgin would be in my opinion a loss but not as much as the Day girl. Friley has athletic ability and senior leadership. The Lady Royals are going to be young with or without these players but it will be a long season for the Rose Hill program if it turns out that they lose all four of these girls, and not just one or two.

With seniors Connor and Dietrich leading this group of seasoned players, Ashland should be the favorite to win the 64th district and the 16th region.

The Kittens look to now have a firm grip on the district for years to come and is for sure one of the region favorites this year. Barring injury, Ashland looks as good or better than anyone this year. Connor should be a match up problem for most teams this year, Farris is an exceptional athlete who is coming into her own, Dieterich is top notch and Coach Bradley is about as good a coach as you will find in the region. Looks like the year of the cat!

Could be an interesting year in the 16th. Kittens are a very well-rounded team.

What is the outlook for the Lady Lions this year? I didn't know for sure who they lost and how well their middle school teams played last year.

I would like to know that as well. It's hard to say who they have lost or is coming back. Haven't seen any of them since the district finals. There middle school team seemed to play pretty good at times.

Hey Mugshot, what in Sam's Hill is going on over there at the Hill?

I saw in the paper the other day they expect enrollment to be down. I'm sure in these tough times it's hard to come up with $4,000-$5,000 to go to school. However they said they look for enrollment to be around 300.

I think Mugshot has been given a gag order.

I was told last night Kayla Day has enrolled at Fariview. She is a great kid and I look forward seeing her play.

Fairview just got alot better.
08-10-2009, 04:27 PM
I would say they did and Rose Hill just got alot worse imo.

She will have to sit out won't she? That is what someone on here told me.
08-10-2009, 06:11 PM
I believe if she moves into the Fairview district I believe she will be eligible. Nice addition to the Lady Eagles. Heard Russell is also getting a transfer from Illinois.
08-10-2009, 06:32 PM
One of the boys from the school said that she still lived out in Boyd County's district and they were not moving. Could be interesting for Fairview if they let her play and she turns out not to be eligible. I went to Ashland so it really doesn't matter to me if she plays or not, Kittens still team to beat no matter where Day girl goes.

I was really surprised to hear all the kids that have left or have decided not to play basketball at Rose Hill. I have read on here that Day is going to Fariview and Vanover is at Verity. Is the Friley and Virgin girls still at the school?
I saw them play a couple of times last year and just felt so bad for those kids taking a beating every game. I wish all of them the best.

Kittens will win the District and the Regional, imo, regardless of which players go where. hh:

Kittens look tough and Coach Bradley will have them ready for the season.

What I hear the kittens are looking great.

Both teams looked very good in the summer league down in Raceland. As for the girls at Rose Hill, looks like Day is going to Fairview (she most likely is missing a year from what I have been told on here), Friley and Virgin are not playing and Vanover is at Verity now. I don't think Rose Hill would have been a threat to Ashland or any of the other top teir teams but now they are gong to struggle for sure. Makes the Kittens season even easier, IMO.

Will Rose Hill even have a girls team now. Do they even have enough to play?:
