Channing Fugate or Miles Simpson?
#61
BOBCAT Wrote:He went up against like 3 or 4 AT THE Most "tough" teams last year.No more than Channing. You people think because he didn't play mountain teams that YANKEES are tougher?Give me a break.I wonder what Simon Kenton could have done against Johnson Central or Belfry myself. They and WE are as good as any YANKEE team.:flush:

:please:

If you don't think Simon Kenton could beat Johnson Central, Belfry, or even your Bobcats then you should do yourself a favor and watch some good 6A teams play. I promise you it is quite a bit different than what we are used to here in the Mountains.

well i dont give a **** mountain team or yankee 6a team channing fugate could run all over any defense you put in front of him. not taking anything away from simpson but he wouldnt be able to run the ball in the mountains he is to small he would get crushed by mountain defenses.

You mean to tell me that Miles Simpson couldn't carry the ball in the Mountains? That is a very uneducated statement.

Since when is 6'2 and 195 pounds small? :eyeroll: Simpson is bigger than most backs in the Mountains. Although Channing is as big as they come, Miles Simpson is no easy running back to take down. Simpson is also faster.

You people need to lighten up a bit and understand that although Channing is a great back (one of the best to ever come through the Mountains), there is still better talent out there.

This statement is unfounded and genuinely incorrect.

I am a Breathitt fan threw and threw, but saying that Simpson couldnt run well here in the mountains is just an ignorant statement. Channing and Miles are both very good backs, both have thier strenghts and both have thier downfalls.

LOL, Wow! Can you spell H-O-M-E-R!!! :lmao:

I live in the mountains and football here is not in the same class as football in Northern Kentucky. Occasionally you will have a football team on the same level but not very often. Johnson Central and Bell County would be the closest right now.

Please.they also lost to a good 2A school. The 6a schools they played were not the best in the state.Only Male and Boone are consistantly good.:lmao:

NO YOU have to realize when your used to watching the BEST every Friday night there is no better talent in KY.Period.I get to walk onto the field every Friday with the biggest and best RB in Ky.

Sorry, I know this is a Fugate, Simpson thread, but really Highlands with Collinsworth would supercede all these teams. Highlands would beat Simon Kenton and Breathitt. I don't mean to be cocky and I'm sorry if it comes across that way, but I really feel that Highlands would have a very good chance of beating both these teams and if your basing Mr. Ky Football on the better team to win class, I'm going to have to go with Collinsworth and Highlands.

That's not biased at all, is it? :eyeroll:

Just because you haven't seen anyone better than Fugate, doesn't mean there isn't anyone better.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and if you think Channing is better, then that is fine. I was just stating my opinion of to why I think Miles Simpson is better and you call me and others out for that.

BOBCAT Wrote:Which part?Channing can run over anyone.

The entire thing. First of all Channing didn't "run over top" of Central. I know of several teams who he would struggle against.. nothing to do with the kid necessarily, but the fact the entire team defense would overwhelm Breathitt.

Secondly, the poster said Simspon was too small. Simspon is probably bigger and stringer than 90% or more of the starting RB's in EKY.

Thirdly, the poster said that "mountain defenses would crush him". I am as big of a supporter of mountain football as anyone, but that point was pure ignorance. On the whole mountian football and mountain defenses, with the exception of the elite programs, are nowhere near the same level as 5A and 6A teams from other areas.

You obviously have NO Clue what you are talking about! A completely uneducated opinion!

Cmon Tradition, I expect you to live and die with HHS, but let's give Austin a chance to run out of the backfield first before we put him in any RB list. We all expect him to be great there, but let's be real - He has not even lined up in the backfield yet..... No, your comment was not arrogant or cocky, it was just completely unfounded with zero qualifications except an opinion!

This isn't about the best team, it is about the best player. Based on your logic Mr. Football should go to the starting running back at Trinity because Trinity would beat Highlands, Breathitt, and Simon Kenton.

If Fugate or Simpson went to Highlands then Collinsworth would still be at WR instead of RB.

I agree with you, I felt the thread was heading in the direction of who would beat whom, which, like you, I also felt was a twisted way of deciding who was the better player.

Absolutely amazing.

A thread is started asking for peoples opinions.

Opinions are given and you seem to want to decide who's opinion is valid and who's is not.

FACT: There is no 100% sure way to tell who is the best unless they played on identical teams against identical competition. Until then it is all just speculation.

Why is it so hard to realize that people are allowed to formulate their own opinions and voice them. Just because my opinion differs from someone else's does not mean they are any more right or wrong than I am.

I live in the nky area so I haven't had the chance to see the Fugate kid, but I have seen Simpson and I can tell you first hand he is the real deal and will end up being one of the best backs to come out of nky EVER. That says a lot considering some of the talent that has come through here.

For the FEW who are looking at Miles as being "small" at 6'2 195, you obviously haven't seen the kid play or seen him in person. He is a load and can run by you or run you over. He has both speed and power and his playmaking ability when catching the ball out of the backfield is matched by very few around the state.

Both are fine players which is obvious by the amount of offers they have, but let's not let our bias get in the way of making educated posts. This doesn't apply to everyone, but there are several posters and posts on here that made me think "wow." If you haven't seen the KID first hand, why make comments about them or their team? Total disrespect IMO. Let's remember these are high school KIDS!

With that said, good luck to both players and I hope that they both succeed and achieve all of their personal and team goals this coming season.

You are the one calling people out for saying their opinions are wrong.

All I and others have said is that we would rather have Simpson than Fugate. That is our OPINIONS. It doesn't make it right or wrong. That's the beauty of opinions, they're not right or wrong. Your opinion is obviously that you would rather have Fugate than Simpson, which is perfectly fine. You're not right or wrong for thinking that way and we are not right or wrong for thinking the opposite.

the funny thing on here is that everyone was saying that central would overwhelm breathitt. they beat breathitt but they didn't overwhelm breathitt channing fugate still rushed for 160 sum odd yards and 2 td's
