The talk of the mixed martial arts world for the past 24 hours has been Tuesdayâs bombshell that Josh Barnett allegedly tested positive for a banned substance in a drug test administered by the California State Athletic Commission. He was due to face Fedor Emelianenko at Affliction âTrilogyâ on Aug. 1, but has been denied the reinstatement of his license due to the test result.
So far, the leading candidate to face Emelianenko appears to be Vitor Belfort, who would vacate his main card slot against Jorge Santiago to headline against the heavier Russian.
According to Dave Meltzer of Yahoo! Sports, Affliction representatives are offering a $500,000 purse to the eventual replacement for Barnett.

I wish Fedor would just goto UFC before he gets past his prime. He's wasting his time with those guys at Affliction/M-1.

Fedor is now being rumored to be fighting Belfort a middleweight.

I had heard on Sirius Radio that this is not the first time that Jash has been envolved with Steroids. Anyone hear any further details???

Josh Barnett just saved himself a beat down, thats all he did. I agree with Blackcat, go to the UFC and quit wasting your time with these lesser organizations. He's not proving anything other than he can beat middle tier UFC heavyweights.
