Dominated Mir last night. Can anyone in the Heavyweight division even challenge this guy? He would wipe the ground with Slice, way too athletic for a fighter his size. He's a freak of nature athlete for a fighter that big.

Imagine how those guys felt in college wrestling when they went up against Lesnar.

Why even put Slice in the same sentence with Lesnar. Slice is not an MMA fighter, he's a wannabe street thug. He has no background in anything.

In my opinion Slice isn't even in comparison to Brock.

Slice will get his chance to become an MMA fighter for the UFC as he will be on the next Ultimate Fighter, but as everyone has said Lesnar would have his way with Kimbo.

Brock dominated that fight, but showed a lot of poor sportsmanship after the fight.
Would love to see Brock & Fedor fight.

Nobody in the UFC will be able to handle him, thats for sure. Im afraid that the heavyweight, light heavyweight, middleweight, welterweight and lightweight belts will be in the same hands for a long long while..Brock will keep the heavyweight belt as long as he wants it. Count me as one that didnt think he would dominate Mir like he did. I thought Mir would give him a good fight, but Brock is so friggin huge, and that big body will just wear people out. Frank Mir fights around 260 (on fight night, not the weigh ins), and he looked like a middleweight against Brock last night.

I agree. He doesn't need to act like that. But, I guess he knows that no one can touch him right now in the Heavy Weight Division. And that was just a way of showing his excitement.

Brock was classless after the fight, but trust me, Dana want's him to be! I guarentee you that you will not see Dana nor Brock come out with an apology! And we know that UFC is Dana. If Dana want's something, HE GETS IT! So, why won't you see an apology, because that was a "Cha'Ching" moment. As I have said, they want Brock to be HATED. That way, you and I will pay out $50 to watch him get Beat! In a sagging economy, how do you draw interest to you prodcut - HEAT! Brock is drawing HEAT! Good for him, I hope he rides it to the back for a long, long time.

C'mon, No bites!!! :igiveup::igiveup::igiveup::igiveup:
I was completely joking above. Does anyone really think Dana White wants his company to get the same attention from the media that the WWE gets? In my facetious comments, I was hoping for someone to get peeved and challenge it. UFC has worked hard at making themselves look legit. What Brock did after the fight (his comment about his wife), is exactly what Dana wants to avoid! This guys has worked his tail off to ensure that he gets adn keeps sponsors. He is working overtime to bring this to a status that can compete with the major sports in america. I think he is doing a great job of this, but he cannot allow his athletes to become bigger than the game!
I thought for sure someone would have called me out on this one!:HitWall:

Couoldn't stand his actions and Dana White pointed it out QUICKLY afterwards and told him that the UFC isn't the WWE!
07-12-2009, 08:33 PM
I think the person that could give Brock a good fight is Shane Carwin. He has even bigger gloves than brock does and is the type of fighter that Brock wouldnt be able to throw around. He is just as big as brock is. Fedor is supposed to be coming to the UFC as soon as his contract with affliction expires, and then Fedor would have the belt.

Yes! In all honesty, Brock. Do not underestimate this big man. This is the classic big man versus little man. Fedor will be outweighed by 35 pounds, that is MASSIVE. Brock will have 7 inches of reach advantage. Mir was as close to physical comparison to Brock as anyone in MMA today, and Brock still walk through him. Fedor is a bad man, but you are wrong to think that Brock is not as well!

Mir does not cut weight at all, no HW does unless they walk around over 265, a lot over 265 and Mir walks around at about 245.............just not a chiseled 245.....
In all honesty I don't know if anyone can beat Brock, even Fedor. You have to match his strength to even come close to pulling any sub from the guard and his stand up is pretty descent plus the fact he would have at least a 7 inch reach advantage on Fedor.........and lets see how Fedor does against Barnett who is a very, very good shoot wrestler.....

Not hardly.. Shane Carwin is much bigger than Frank Mir. Shane Carwin is 6'3 262, compared to Frank Mir being 6'3 225. For reference Brock Lesnar is 6'3 265. Actually Tim Hague is actually bigger than Lesnar being 6'4 265.
I believe Carwin could beat Lesnar if he can't keep the fight off the ground. Lesnar is too tough on the ground, and Carwin seems to be the better striker.

Frank Mir is listed at 240, but cut to 225 for the UFC 100 weigh in.
Lesnar has said he cuts weight. Rehydrated he is closer to 280.. His weight when he was in the WWE was 295. Either way, Brock is 40 pounds bigger than Frank.

Dana White was asked about the consensus number one Heavyweight in the world (and arguably the number one pound for pound fighter in the world) Fedor Emelianenko, as he is at every gathering involving the MMA media. White was candid this time, saying he knows he's talked a lot of trash about Fedor and his management in the past, but the bottom line is they will eventually get Fedor. White said once they finally get Fedor's signature on a contract, they will then set up the now eagerly anticipated Fedor vs. Brock Lesnar fight.

The Brock Lesnar- Frank Mir fight ended as I predicted and that was if Lesnar did not make any careless mistakes early because he was too emotionally charged that Brock would dominate Mir. That's exactly what happened.
Lesnar is a beast and when fighting at a well conditioned 280ish is too much man for most in MMA to physically match up. Mir put on a positive, competitive face in hope perhaps of PO'ing Lesnar between the first and second round but one has to wonder if it was a case of Mir trying to convince himself that he still had a legit shot at winning. Mir's a tough hombre and a great talker who lost no respect in the MMA world with his performance on Saturday night.
Lesnar's size, strength, take down ability, and punching power are challenging attributes to defend. The ability to take an opponent down seemingly at will, ala GSP, will always be a card Lesnar can play against any one I've seen on the MMA horizon.
I thought Mir hurt Lesnar with a punch and a couple of knees in the 2nd round but Lesnar's take down ability kicked in and Mir's, brief, offensive fire was quickly extinguished.
Lesnar seems to perhaps be vulnerable as it relates to his striking defense but that observation is arguable. If that argument does have credence, then that matter will become a major topic of discussion if the much talked Lesnar-Fedor bout ever takes place.
One thing is for sure, the more bouts Lesnar gets under his belt over the next several months, the better he's going to get which is something the Fedor camp needs to consider. In other words, perhaps Fedor's entourage should take the multiple fight, massive money deal now from UFC when Fedor's chances of knocking out Lesnar are better than they might be a year or so from now.
Lesnar's post match, unscripted remarks did not completely surpirse me. Those that do not personally know Lesnar as do I need to understand that his level of intensity and fury is scary. Brock has said many things in private conversations that I have been a part of that would make one do a double take. He is an intimidating, emotional jock who has been known for speaking first and thinking later. I don't think Brock is an inherently evil person whatsoever but his level of competitiveness can be dangerous. It's like Brock "moonsaulting" at Wrestlemania 19 in Seattle against Kurt Angle when being advised not to prior to the bout. Lesnar was told that men his size don't do top rope Moonsaults which was the wrong thing to say to the former NCAA All American and National Champion. Lesnar came close to tragically ending his athletic career that night while defying logic and doing what others told him that he could not do.
Lesnar, as I pointed out a couple of days ago, loves to be jeered...the louder the better. Brock takes his game to another level when he knows that it's him against the world. Former OU and Dallas Cowboys Coach Barry Switzer went into the College Football Hall of Fame and won three National Titles and a Super Bowl with that coaching style, "it's us against the world and the world wants to see us lose."
When Lesnar, who detested the travel and emotional demands of WWE's schedule, was the most "hated villain" on the roster he was at his happiest in sports entertainment.
Plus, let's not forget that some people genuinely enjoy being a badass bully. Lesnar, in a ring, mat, or octagon, embraces that persona. Brock may say that he did not like school but the South Dakota farm boy is far from being a dumb jock. Lesnar has plenty of common sense and knows, as Eric Bischoff wrote, that controversy does in deed create cash.

Fedor has fought people from 7'2 to 300 lbs. I think he could come up with something that would beat Brock. Brock isnt unbeatable like people think, Frank pulled off a knee bar and beat him so you know he is beat able. And with his little showing that he put on after the fight, I think Dana will try that much harder to get Fedor to beat his you know what.

First I never said Brock didnt cut weight, because he does and WWE billing has nothing to do with real weight.
Brock walks around over 300lbs, he HAS to cut weight to make the 265lb limit. He starts 6 weeks out to cut the almost 40lbs he needs to.
Why would Mir cut weight? It drains you physically and hurts your cardio and why in the heck would you cut weight when you are under the limit, fighting someone who outweighs you 50-60lbs? Randy even said he tried to GAIN weight/muscle mass to fight Brock.
Yes Fedor has fought HMC, Sapp, Zulu, and a couple others who are bigger than Lesnar but they are no where near as skilled......NOT EVEN CLOSE!
Fedor also cuts very easily and during the HMC fight his face was visibly beaten from less than 10 strikes.......
I'm not saying Fedor will automatically lose, as he might be strong enough to pull an armbar from the guard or could even KO him but we are talking about a man who is an athletic FREAK and WORLD CLASS WRESTLER who totally neutralized the guard of the best HW BJJ guy there is.
07-13-2009, 05:04 PM
Brock was classless after his win over Frank Mir, just as he was when he beat Heath Herring. The only fighters i could see having a shot at beating Brock that are currently signed with the UFC are Shane Carwin and Cain Valezquiz. Carwin 6'3 262 at weigh inns is just as big as Brock. Cain on the other hand is greatly out sized in the weight category, but makes up for it with his wrestling ability, which is just as good, if not better than Brock's. Outside the UFC Fedor is the best match up there is, then you have the likes of Josh Barnett and Alistar Overeem. There are plenty of fighters that can beat Brock, it's just a matter of bringing them to the UFC.
