As long as he does a good job in your area, that's all one can ask. As a freelance, he is clueless.
To each their own.
If you are talking about the sportswriter from the Harlan newspaper, I feel like he does a good job. I am from a neighboring county and every time we played Harlan County he would interview our coaches equitable to what he did with Harlan County coaches. Very few local newspaper reporters give as much equal coverage to the visiting team.

Well spill the beans gotcha! We need something to talk about until they start practice on Monday and then we can commence on how great all our teams will be this year.

I bought mine today at the bookstore in Prestonsburg. Didn't see them at Wal-mart today.

Would you believe I left it at work today.
I had a chance to check out the 1A district 8 preview and briefly read over the district 7 preview.
I do remember that Michael Burchett (Prestonsburg), Varney (Belfry), Channing Fugate (Breathitt) , Allen Fugate (Hazard) and Logan Crowder (Allen Central) were listed as Pre-season pick for player of the year in their respective districts.

Wonder who the pre-season player of the year in the Letcher - Harlan district.
07-09-2009, 11:40 PM
Actually- I'm about 45 minutes from work. But I start at 7:00 tomorrow. I'll post the Letcher-Harlan answer first thing in the morning. Sorry!!

Jordan Amis, Perry Central
07-09-2009, 11:41 PM
OK. You better. LOL.

I didn't see it at wal mart either. I live in whitesburg, and right now food city is remodeling so I don't know when they are getting new books in, and our wal mart doesn't have them.

Interesting, if I was gonna guess, I would have guessed Jones from Whitley. I didn't see Whitley or Perry Co. play last year so that was just by strictly looking at the stat numbers from the KHSAA site.
07-10-2009, 12:10 AM
It might have been Jones if he didn't graduate. Labanion from Whitley is second. Amis' numbers are pretty impressive, and he didn't have a whole lot of help when I saw them against Harlan, except for Travis.

I suppose next time I should pay closer attention to the grade. :worthy:

Okay Mama Bear, this is for you.
NEW KID IN TOWN- HARLAN COUNTY
The second year program could be a district contender in its first season of 5A competition. HC lost most its big-play threats to graduation, giving steady senior Tailback T.J. Green and speedy junior receiver/running back Dylon Smith bigger roles in the offense. Seniors Austin SHort, Jamie Ball and George Shoemaker are back on the offensive line. The Bears' defensive line featuers a trio of standouts with seniors James Phillips and Ball and junior end Jordan Calton.
Hope this relieves your Cats' Pause anxiety. lol.

Devin Foster - All state running back pick along with channing for 2009 season easily. both could contend for mr.football.

Does anyone know if Thomas Varney is being looked at by any colleges? He is a great Running Back and I enjoy watching him play. And I think he is very underrated.

does it have a preview for everyteam?

UCFB Wrote:does it have a preview for everyteam?
Not really a "preview" for every team, but every team is mentioned. I know in each class and then district, it lists each time and has 1-2 sentences about them. It then lists the Pre-season favorite in each district with a couple of paragraphs about them. Following that is a second section with the #2 pre-season pick in each district. That is followed by a paragraph about the Pre-season player of the year pick. The section ends with a list of Players to Watch from that district.
If you have a question about a specific team - I'll post what is shown on them.

5A district 4 through 8. If you could, and had time could you post how they have them ranked, and who is all preseason all district?
