Good point!! I myself am not a christian, nor do I profess to be, I was raised in the church, and was taught about god. I will say I do not condone, murder of any sort........having said that I myself think abortion, is a murder of convenience, it is a way for someone to get out of the responsibility of their actions jmo. As for war, I think if your in that situation,it is kill or be killed, and I could only hope that God in his infinite mercy and grace would forgive me, I think he will also forgive those who have abortions, he is no respector of persons!! So CE here goes: Defending ones family and land from people who want to take them from you is not murder. Right before Judas betrayed him, JESUS ordered his apostles to sell their garments and buy swords. He knew that people who didnt believe would hate them and would seek to destroy them for what they stood for(not much has changed) and he wanted them to be able to defend themselves. Abortion on the other hand and in most cases is just a woman who made a mistake and an innocent child has to suffer the consequenses. Theres a HUGE difference.

John Dear, for instance, is a Jesuit priest who is a peace activist, who believes that all "just war" theories are bunk, who believes it is the follower of Christ's spiritual obligation to resist war and to actively work for peace and justice. Isn't it true one can take the Gospels, the words of jesus, and end up theologically exactly where Mr. Dear does?

I thought so, why so defensive, I only ask a question???? and to be more precise, he was arrested what 75 times, all in the name of christ and a nonviolent world, don't sound like he was striving to hard to be christ like, there is ways to be non violent and promote peace and let people know how you stand on issues.......without breaking the law and being arrested!!!!

Martin Luther King Jr. was arrested multiple, multiple times. What are you suggesting? Sometimes, to be arrested to point out the injustice of a law, is, in reality, showing the highest regard for the law (i.e. that it should be just). This is a paraphrase of what Martin Luther King Jr. said in "Letter from Birmingham Jail."

Are you suggesting that if a person fights for a cause,and they think that a law is unjust (i.e "sometimes to be arrested to point out the injustice of a law, is, in reality , showing the highest regard for the law") that its ok to break the law? isn't that what anti abortion radicals are doing? If in your eyes its ok for someone to break the law for a cause, then why isn't it ok for...... say someone to do the same against legalized abortion if they think its unjust???

I know you're not saying it was justified protest that killed Dr. Tiller. Are you? Anti-abortion protesters have been arrested, of course. I believe in non-violent protest. I don't care for grown men yelling "baby killer" at an often already frightened young woman; however, if the person's "heart" is to point out injustice, if the method is non-violence, if the tactic includes respect for human dignity, friend or enemy alike, then I would say the spirit of the thing has Christian leanings.

When the status quo (just or unjust) is challenged, the protester will go to jail. When one falls below the community standard, punishment (often jail). When one rises above the community standard, persecution (often jail). Rending unto god put someone you know into peril. As it was then, as it has been always, so it is today. Arrest is not the test.

Given that America is not a Religious Theocracy I would think that would require all patriotic citizens to me Americans First and Christian Second.
In that theory I propose that since Roe vs. Wade is the law of the land we must accept the High Court Ruling and stop the violence against Patients and Physicians of abortion clinics.
Everyone has the right to peaceful protest but not many of the clinic protesters are playing inside the rules. Most of them walk the fine line and every now and again one steps over the line.
I also suggest that the anger fostered by these protests is the vehicle that convinces these vigilantes that it is ok to lay in wait and kill with a snipers bullet. Which is more cowardly than any act performed by any physician.
