How do you see this edition of the Cardinals
#2
They will have to get some help inside with all those seniors gone. But coach harless has seen more basketball than most. And his asst. coaching staff are solid.

With the loss of all those seniors and only two underclassmen ( Moore and Lafferty) seeing playing time the outlook isn't very bright . Seeing alot of basketball and being able to coach is two different things but the same old rumors of players transferring in so once again making the rounds but as long as Harless is at the helm boys basketball will continue to slide. Its a safe bet they will once again be either fourth or fifth in the district. At least our girls basketball program is headed in the right direction.:please:

It will be another long year for the cards. They bring back one solid player in BJ Moore thats it.

Exactly.

I'd say it will be an uphill battle....
but I'd like to see them make some noise....
Good luck cards

same story as every year we can't get it done in the long run. Moore can't score every point in a game.

Well they won't never be a good team until they get a coach that is worth a nickle. They would have been awesome this past year if they had a coach because they had the talent. They need a coach. Roger harless is a good person but not much of a coach.

Amen to that Redcorn. You can be a good person but being a good basketball coach is a differnt story. Harless is a joke and the program will continue to go down and down with him coaching but we are all know how he got the job in the first place and it shows that no one except the fans are interested in having a winning basketball program. ::Thumbs:

Yea could probly use a better coach..but dont count the cards out quite yet they should be alot faster team this year..haveing players that dominated 8th grade ball two years ago witch was led by Lafferty and Moore..

Not sure about harless but they need to get a ring around the circus that is the rest of their coaching staff. How many they have 10??

Amen Quarterback7. I know there is at least seven or eight and looks like the middle school school is coming up to join and rumore has it that former player Shane Stafford may also join the staff. Lets face it, James is the best coach on the bench but instead of putting a circle around the fire the coaching staff at SCHS would make for a good reality show on Comedy Central.:ChairHit:

Although he hasn't had the best record, Harless is a good coach. He has recorded many more wins than a few of the previous coaches in a season. Maybe the problem with basketball in Martin County isn't just the head coach but also the lack of support from others in the school system. It seems to me that for the most part, people just want to see Coach Harless fail. Keep in mind if he fails, the team fails, meaning all the kids on the team. This vicious cycle has been SC basketball for quite some time now. People in the community get mad for silly, non-basketball related reasons and automatically want the coach gone. I believe it is time for a major attitude adjustment for SC fans and parents. Supporting Coach Harless is supporting the kids. It's time to be positive and realize that there are many more reasons for the lack of wins than just Mr. Harless.
Good Luck Cards!

two years. two years of losing records. Plus he the best talent in state at Tug Valley and could win a state title and lets not forget that when he coach the forst go around he had the best team in the region with a talented group of players but got beat in the first round of the regional tournament. All Martin County fans want is a winning team. Is that too much to ask. I think not and from the looks of things 09 - 10 will be another losing season for the Cards.TongueirateSho

Coach Harless is too worried about what is being said about him in the stands and media outlets to worry about coaching. He needs to learn that his time and talents are needed by the players not the fans and the media. Plus, don't be surprised if him or a very close member of his family isn't on here posting.

SC needs a coach form out of the county.. until then the basketball program will never do anything.
