I will be there to watch Jenkins play the best they can. There is no denying that Jenkins is VERY good. They can win the Region. We will see them play some very good softball. Go Big Green.

How much more are we going to have to deal with having a loosing record in softball three straight years in a row?

Who has a losing record three years in a row?

A basketball coach has a top 4 region team two years in a row, and get fired. We have a softball coach who hasn't won a district title in three years, and nothing will probably be done to him. What a shame.

Losers far from it. Less than Coach Adams' expectations sure. Rising Jenkins team in our district can be some of the reason.
A shame far from it. There is more than w-l's in a decision to cut a coach.

What a shame.Raymond lost in his first two years with teams that most expected to get to the region and the Super showed the patience to allow the past two years to happen and the same should happen here.

In softball I think he hasn't done a good job with working with these kids in the off season. With coaching middle school, and being basketball assistant, you have to give 100% to the sport and I think he hasn't done it.

What can be done in the off season that he hasn't done? Most of these girls play volleyball or basketball in the "off-season". You are limited to non-sport specifics. These girls have individual accountable as well. You cannot coach year round in any sport. What does Jenkins or Estill County do in the off season?

idk about Jenkins but Estill might have a couple players that play basketball and volleyball other than that they dont do nothing

What I am saying is go to the youth. Walk around and talk to 8th graders, freshman, and invite them out to play. Have a middle school softball team, and look at what kind of talent you have.

He comes to our school every year. He goes to all the rest as well. He encourages all girls to come out. I am in the meeting most of the time. He tells them it takes hard work and commitment and that runs some off immediately.
His current team has 2 7th graders, 4 8th graders, and 4 9th graders. This gives him 10 of 21 roster spots in those grades.

idk if Estill does that or not, but they do have 3 8th graders on the team

I worry about him though. You know what the powers that be do to coaches up there who don't do good. If he can turn it around I will be all for it.

having pitchers and catchers that work in the off season can make a difference to. like you said, its the players as well as the coach.

Jenkins went to tournaments on the weekends at Somerset and Ashland and played some really good teams. More times than not, they came back with some losses, but the team got to see what teams in other parts of the state look like. For people close to the state borders, Virginia, West Virginia, and Tennessee have tough programs. You gotta get out of the 14th in order to be successful. Jenkins and Estill are the two furthest teams in the region, it takes almost 3 hours to get to Estill county on a bus making it impossible to play each other unless its on weekends. They both played in a lot of tourney's on the weekends so that is probably why they didn't play each other this year, just an assumption
