2009 King of Bluegrass Field

The following teams will be in the KOB December 17-22 at Fairdale:

Holmes, Eastern, Clark County, Warren Central, Ballard, Trinity, Iroquois, Fairdale, Seneca, Knott County Central, Huntsville (AL) J. O. Johnson, Scottsdale (AZ) Chaparral, Powder Springs (GA) McEachern, and Memphis (TN) Central.

Should be a very good tournament.

Holmes- Ricardo Johnson, Jeremiah Johnson, Elijah Pittman
Eastern- Remy Abell, Arman Marks, Lyonell Gaines
Clark Co- Robbie Stenzel, Vinny Zollo, Travis Purvis
Warren Central- Jordan Shanklin, George Fant
Ballard- Ian Chiles, Keisten Jones
Seneca- Deonte Maddox
Fairdale- Josh Stroud
Iroquois- Donovan Gibbs
Trinity- Josh Sewell
Shelby County- Donovan Johnson
Tates Creek- Marcellus Barksdale, Ryan Fucci
Chaparrel (AZ)- Zeke Chapman (son of former UK and NBA star, Rex Chapman)
J.O Johnson (AL)- Josh Langford (6'6 Louisville Commit)
Powder Springs (GA)- Trae Golden (top 25 nationally for his class)

This tournament will be star studded and loaded with talent.

I personally cannot wait to see Zeke Chapman play, I have heard a lot of good things about this young man, and oh yea, his daddy is a former Wildcat Star...

Same here...I'm sure Rex will be in attendance as well.

With all the great teams and individual talent that is on each team, this maybe the best KOB field ever....

The 2009 King of Bluegrass will take place December 17-22 at Fairdale High School and now we know who will be playing in the event. Eastern, Ballard, Trinity, Iroquois, Fairdale, Seneca, Clark County, Holmes, Warren Central, Tates Creek, Shelby County and Knott County Central will represent the state of Kentucky. They will be joined by four out of state schools, Huntsville (Ala.) J. O. Johnson, Scottsdale (AZ) Chaparral, Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern and Memphis (TN) Central.

As always, the event will feature some of the best players around the state and the nation. Defending state champion Holmes will feature Ricardo Johnson and Elijah Pittman. Both players are being recruited by a number of Division I schools.

As far as the out of state schools, J.O. Johnson (Ala.) features 6-foot-6, University of Louisville commit Josh Langford. Langford is rated as the No. 107 prospect in the country according to Rivals.com. Powder Spring (Ga.) features Trae Golden, a 6-foot-1 point guard who is rated as the No. 68 prospect in the country according to Rivals.com. Scottsdale (AZ) Chaparral features Zeke Chapman, who is the son of former Univertsity of Kentucky great Rex Chapman.

Josh Sewell - Trinity
Donovan Gibbs - Iroquois
George Fant and Jordan Shanklin - Warren Central
Donovan Johnson - Shelby County

Actually Ballard isn't the one who puts on the KOB....Lloyd Gardner is the tournament director and Canfield Development sponsors it. It's held at Fairdale High School every year...not Ballard.

And from what I've heard, both Elliott CO and Shelby Valley have been invited the past few years but denied the invitation to play in out of state tournaments. :eyeroll: Confusedhh:
