Holmes will cause matchup problems for any team in Kentucky. Too much size and speed for most teams. Justice would hold his own and then some but the overall team that Holmes has will be too much for SV's lack of depth.

will they remake it to state?
Logan Bryant didnt do much in the state tournament
Curby Tackett suprised many as he made all region team, but was not a great help.
Valley will still be a great team cause they still have justice which is basically the team, considering he had half their points and most of the assists in the regional championship taking them to state.

You need more than one player to beat the elite teams in the state. Justice may be enough to get it done in the region, but not the state tournament against teams who have 3 and 4 kids who would start pretty much anywhere in the state.

And of those kids you named, only 2 will play college ball. Hatfield will play at the D2 or D3 level and Justice will play at the D2 or low D1 level.
Look at teams like Scott Co, Holmes, Eastern, J'town, GRC, and Ballard. All are loaded with 3 and 4 college prospects. SV will be good but not on the same level as those guys.

I agree on only two players, but honestly, if Taylor were 3-4" taller, he'd dominate around the basket. He's is a beast of a rebounder for a 6'3 guy.

That could also be said for a lot of other kids around the state, so kind of a moot point.

I'm stating it because he's 6'3 and is usually the leading rebounder against whoever they play, and he did that with Adams and Tackett playing along side him.

Adams and Tacket weren't exactly the two most athletic players in the state...they were just big and took up space.
There are plenty of other 6'3 and 6'4 kids rebounding just as well. See Chad Jackson who was averaging close to 10 rpg as a POINT GUARD...and that was with Euton and Phares down low.

A very athletic kid from Pikeville, he didn't play ball for them but will be the 2nd most athletic kid on SV's team next year...and the plus is he is also a very good ballplayer. I think a lot of people of placing SV's next year team on the performance of the players this year. I have personally watched these kids working out every day and are getting more powerful and quicker everday! IMO SV will be every bit as dominant in the 15th region next year and given the right draw in the sweet 16, could play on Saturday.

I'll give him 3rd, Cody Varney is a heck of an athlete. But Zach is a better ball player than Cody.

Varney is the best athlete on the team, hands down. Not the best ballplayer, but definitely the best athlete.

What do you think of Ramey as a ballplayer, as I've said, I've played with him at the Y and I think he's pretty decent.

I think he is a pretty good ballplayer who will help them. He is quick and can shoot the ball pretty good. He will definitely give them some help off the bench.

Why didn't he play at Pikeville?

He moved away and then came back late, I think.
He shoots well but cannot handle the ball the way he needs to with his left hand. Tyler Newsome will be in the starting lineup. If not he should get out of their. He passes, shoots and is a better all around player than Ramey. This kid has accepted a role and should be starting. I think he deserves the shot, as he would start on any other team in the region.
As for SV, I think they come back to the pack in the 15th this year. They are still the team to beat, but dont really have an answer for the loss of Logan. I dont think the big kids graduating hurt nearly as bad as him. The dont have any depth at guard.

No, Zach will be a Senior. I know him really well, he home schooled for half his Sophomore and Junior year and played 2 years all together at Pikeville. The boy wants to play Ball but his parents and religion have held him back. PHS never gave him a chance cause he had to leave practice early for Church on Tuesdays so that cut his playing time. So he's making a statement and moving to SVHS for a final year to whomp up on the Region and go to Rupp where he never would wearing maroon. He is a great athlete. Quick, good handles, defense, shooter, and he can dunk (6'1)

I've threw some outlet passes to him at the y and seen him try to dunk it and he can't up there, but he can get up at the rim. He'd be able to dunk it at the expo though.

Zach should really fit in well with SV's team. Could even start if he works hard at practice. IMO, he could be one of the main scorer on their team.

Ramey should get atleast one dunk like Cody Varney did at PCC. I wish him luck at SVHS. :Cheerlead
