#31
Has anybody heard anything? I thought they were supposed to make a decision today.

Anything less than a regional title is, was and will be an underachievement with that team.

So it is fair to say then, that if somebody comes in, goes 22-8, and doesn't win the region, that they should be fired as well?

I watched this guy conduct practices. He was a very good basketball coach. He just isn't a member of the family.

Come on now.. Ray Charles could have coached that team to 22 wins. Congrats to Amburgey on improving the record of Knott Central, however they are one of the largest schools in the region and common sense says they will not have a losing record every year. I would assume any man could improve the record of a team that had such a drastic increase in talent, even if it was DJ Stamper coaching from the stands.

Basically, the guy was given a great opportunity then failed miserably in the end. No way they should have lost in the district and they even had far more talent than Perry. From an unbiased fan, it was obvious that Knott was out coached. I guess you guys have become so use to mediocre that you want nothing better.

IMO Amburgey would be an excellent fit at a Cordia, Phelps, or somewhere in that neighborhood. If you want a regional title, quiet frankly, he's not the man to get you there.

They had their meeting last night at 5:30 and the announcement was supposed to be made on Ira Combs show last night that he has over at the Sportsplex. Nothing was mentioned about it, don't know if the meeting wasn't as productive as it was supposed to be and they couldn't make a decision or what, but nothing has been announced as of yet. The word was that Mrs. King and Coach Gibson had a little disagreement over the weekend and don't know if they have made up yet. Sure we will find out something soon.

Mr. Gibson has 0 chance of being the next coach and never has! There will be a new coach in that neck of the WOODS announced soon.

I think due to the rain, that they couldn't announce their coach! The fire trucks are all cleaned up and didn't want to get them dirty escorting him through town. they will wait until saturday so they can have another good party up at the Mall to celebrate their soon to be trip to the promised land! Smile

If this is true then Trent might get the LCC job.

Done a little research and it seems that Woods is a great coach. Won't last long though. He won't put up with DJ's crap.

Congrats to Coach Wood and KCC!! Good luuck!!

As said before Rodney is a former coach at Wayne Co, He has been to the state championship game before, in 88 or 89 I believe, when his Wayne Co team lost to PRP. Ironically, that same PRP team had just beaten Allan Hatcher's Marshall Co team that morning to make the game. Odd how Hatcher and Woods meet in the same region 20 years later.

No, your wrong. Woods isn't the coach at Wayne Co any more, he retired. Now hes returning to the sidelines. The coach at Wayne Co is Robert Scott Creech.
