That's what they thought last year too.
#5
Pikeville was the best team in the region last year. Johnson Central beat them on a bad night for Pikeville. Now Prestonsburg is a different story. They are horrible! They dont have to much of a bright future in baseball over there.
#6
Pikeville was a great team last year. I personally thought that they should have beat JC last year in the regional tournament. Pikeville did have an off night and they did beat JC 3 times.
#7
i would say the panthers will be good this year if they cna gte some pitching if they do IMO they win the 15th

If Pikeville was the best team they would have won the region last year, a win is a win. No matter how Pikeville played they got beat.

Who brought P-burg up anyway?

The best team doesnt always win blackcat

You are correct Dirty.
#11
thanks blackcat

We all know Pikeville has the best team coming back...the arms are a little shaky but huffman should anchor with his speed, and anderson coming out of the pen is a nice closer... carter should also bode well for the panthers...as far as defense goes i think a new shortstop has got to come...hamilton doesnt seem to me to be the answer...defensively he is sound but he lofts the ball over to first and hitting is definetly not his strong suit.

Back to the original question....

I like how the Panthers act crazy during the game....keeps them all pumped up!!! And I think that the eye pain is GREAT...I wouldn't be suprised if it struk a little fear into some oponents
#14
trust me Beef it does
i can see the looks in some of their eyes
#15
I can see how it would. But it never really did for me, maybe because I knew alot of them. Maybe they should paint up like the guy on The Program.
#16
i know in the few games I have seen, I get almost as excited as the players when i watch them jump around and act all crazy like a bunch of hoodlums...
#17
No one in the 15th is as crazy as the Pikeville High School Baseball team some of the things this team does is just wild

Keep it up boys
pikeville all the way write that down 8)
#18
thats what makes em so fun to watch...
GO PIKEVILLE!!!
#19
what makes them so wild

Didn't put any fear in Blanton and JC in the region!
Maybe they should use the eye black as it is intended and focus on playing the game.

The eye black is silly looking...make your statements with your gloves and bats!
#21
Shew...trying to kill the fin :?

And they make the statement with the gloves and bats!!

That was last year but now his bat has come around and hes been killin the ball, and it really don't matter how he throws it to first as long as he beats the runner and he normally does...theres no point in killin your arm and fire ballin it over to first when you don't have to.

I have watched cory hamilton play for a long time and he is on of the better short stops i have seen lets look at last years short stops accross the region you have got paul dease from ER who was a great liabilityfor the warriors last year with his glove, jc ss not sure on his name but he had a weak arm and couldnt play in the creek, Hensley from paintsville is a mediocre ss alot of mental problems, kyle potter for pike central no arm bad glove and wasnt even a mediocre hitter so out of that bunch I would say cory is the best ss in the 15th.

I would have to definatly agree with you NIMROD...Hamilton was by far the best in the 15th outta that bunch. Plus he's back this year and probably alot more mature as a ss and better.
#25
potter was at 2nd base, not ss, j.r. chaney and tyler smith shared time at the ss positon last year. How would the eye black intimadate the opponents? It's definently funny, but intimadating??
#26
It isn't intimadating 15fan, especially in baseball. You should never be intimadated in by a left fielder or first baseman that's wearing eye black, you shouldnt be frightened by anyone ever. It's not like the right fielder is going to blind side you on your way to second or anything. He may get three or four balls hit to him the entire day. Eye black should be wore to keep sun out of your eyes, not to look good in your mom's pictures or on the newspaper.
#27
I agree completely 4 leaf!!
#28
yeah....i agree with 15th region fan......i know when we play ppl that have the war paint eye black, were all makin fun of them.....and not to mention that it is deffinately bush leauge....and 15th was also correct about Chaney and Smith sharing shortstop last year
#29
i think pikeville is a darn good team....the only team i can see giving them a run this year would again be johnson central....next year will be tought though...lawerence county moves into the 15th...that will be interesting

He isnt better than Eric Slone, current ER SS.
