John Calipari is planning on going to the Detroit Pistons game this weekend in order to see Tayshaun recieve his gold medal. He wants to be the representative of the University as Tay gets this well-deserved honor.

how about the 41 he put up in the second round of the ncaa tourney that year, also?

So glade that we have a coach that cares about not only the current players but former players. This is nothing but class on Coach C's part.

Cal may well exceed Pitino as a PR guy.

Great move by Coach Cal! Youd never see BCG doing that unless free booze was offered.

I believe Cal mentioned TP in the press conference that he had called him and encouraged him to take the UK job.
An aside note, a friend of mine at the Final 4 said BCG was doin' shots and gambling like a wild man in the casinos ALL ALONE...................

I believe your friend is wrong, because BCG was interviewed at his home yesterday by Fox Sports - at his Home in Texas.
Why would people purposefully make crap up????? It's not warranted.

He has been a significnt face of basketball wherever he has been. Putting him on the UK media machine could put him up there with Pitinon, Williams and Coach K

This just shows how much class that Coach has. He also went to the UK football teams spring practice.

Who is this Pitino you speak of? Seriously I agree. I think Coach Cal was made for the spotlight.

Did someone say we needed an ambassador of the game at UK? I think we now have the best.
