Game 2 of Thursdayâs session of the Sweet Sixteen has 2nd Region champ Christian County (21-6) going against 9th Region champ Holmes (32-2), last yearâs state runner-up.

The Colonels are led by Corey Wilford’s 11 points. Holmes has 11 turnovers that the Colonels have converted into 7 points. Holmes, meanwhile, has turned Christian County’s 8 turnovers into 12 points.

Holmes’ Elijah Pittman tried a reverse dunk but he didn’t quite get it over the rim. A little embarrassing, considering UK Coach Billy Gillispie was sitting no more than 15 feet from the action. But Holmes still has reason to smile. It leads 42-32 midway through the third quarter. Jamel Riley, Ricardo Johnson and Jeremiah Johnson have 11 points apiece for the Bulldogs. (Pittman has just one point.)
