Who gets it? I think Dickie Adams due to what we was last year. He has really turned this program around. :worthy:

I think Dwight Lewis gets it from Leslie Co. They won 20 games and won the District. LC had losing record in 07-08 14-15 and than this season 20-7, 6 game turn around.. I think you also have to mention Joel Melton what he has done for Cordia too. Only winning 7 games in 07-08 and winning 13 this year, making district championship game and making to region for the 1st time in a very long time.

Shouldn't it already be decided. The boys is.

Peggy Moore of Breathitt. Lost Shouse to graduation and still won the region again. Great coaching job for the third year in row.

Peggy Moore period. She has a 51 game winning streak against 14th region teams. Plus a three peat.

Peggy Moore, she led the girls to the first ever three peat in the schools history, in Girls basketball for winning region. Also the win streak she has in the 14th region is insane.

Peggy Moore done a fantastic job this season. Anytime you win the region you should be given the trophy.

Part of being coach of the year is what your team done that no one expected. We all knew how the Lady Bobcats were going to be. The improvement of the cougars from last year, has to be considered.
03-11-2009, 02:37 PM
Yeah I agree, it should be considered but having a streak which the Ladycats have is something amaing. Best team, best player, and best coach, all at Breathitt.
03-11-2009, 06:55 PM
Well has she won it the last two years?
03-11-2009, 10:02 PM
Infact I do beleive that Peggy has won it the past two years.

She has become COY hogg.

Peggy could win it for six straight years with the help of Kendell.

I do agree she is a great coach, but they do give those awards to coaches whose teams have improved.
:1: Dickie Adams should be 14th Region Coach of the Year!

Dickie walked into a gold mine at LCC. Peggy has a great player no doubt but she still has to prepare her teams for the likes of a Dickie Adams or Randy Napier team. If not she wouldn't have the streak she has.

That isnt really true in most cases. Most of the time its the best team, player and coach, if all three happen to be with Breathitt so what. Doesnt matter who much a team has improved, its how much you win. A team can go winless and next year win five games, thats an improvement, should that coach get coach of the year because she improved? No, because winning 5 games is nothing. Dickie has done a good job yes, but denying Peggy the hardware is ludicris.

I completely agree!

So the coach who wins the 14th region automatically wins coach of the year? They should have it handy at the championship game and go ahead and hand it to the winner.
03-12-2009, 07:41 PM
I would say yes, whichever team wins the 14th should have the coach of the year. The best team has the best coach, and best players.

Any word on who won it this year?
03-15-2009, 08:41 PM
Coach Adams of LCC.

Great Choice!!!!
03-16-2009, 02:01 PM
