When Covington Holmes left Highlands' district and moved down to Class 4A a few weeks ago, it creating an opening in Highlands' schedule... well, Highlands will host powerhouse Cincinnati Saint Xavier, in place of the Holmes game. Yikes!!!!

It's a shame more of the bigger schools in Kentucky do not follow the lead set by the smaller power known as Highlands.

As a Highlands fan, I am stoked about this addition. I wasn't real happy about the schedule when it first came out. I really like having a game with an Ohio Powerhouse each year. That is not to say that Cincy Withrow is any slouch by any means. Highlands usually does a 7 on 7 with Withrow each summer and it is a real test. Also, my sons sophmore year Highlands played Withrow in a JV game the day after Highlands had played Trottwood Madison in the Herby and it was not pretty. I can't wait for the Withrow game and I have heard it is to be played at Papa Johns Stadium in Louisville.
But back to Cincy X, this is the kind of team I really want to play with the kinda players Highlands has for the 2009 season.

This is an extroidnary game for the Birds, one that you would expect from Coach Mueller to try to get. This is a potential televised game I would hope

Great high school football programs.

This is just a great game that will prepare the Highlands players for the tough games that I'm sure they will face the rest of the regular season and in the playoffs. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
