what are some players in eastern ky that make big impacts on both sides of the ball?
10-04-2005, 02:13 AM
a few of my personal favorites are jimmy dean chaffins and josh reynolds of lynn camp....prob two of the best either offensive or defensive players in eastern ky, definately in their region. chaffins is the leader on offensive while reynolds is right behind him and vise versa on defense. chaffins kicks and punts while reynolds is longsnapper. they both are kickreturners. two very talented athletes that will play wherever they are needed to win games. this is one of the most dangerous duos u could have on one team. i look for lynn camp to go deep into the playoffs and these two to lead the way.

There are a few names I could think of.
Blume, Matt Maynard, Weston Robinson, Jimmy Chafins, Quentin Morgan, Ryan Howard, etc. But the best of all of them might be T.R. Christopher of Bell Co. He's only a sophomore, maybe a junior, but he can flat-out play. Definitely the most pure RB of any that I've mentioned.

Adam Cannoy and Angel Gurule from Ashland. Both are great wide receivers, good blockers, and can tackle and cover well on defense.

Brandon Peters Pburg....very fast and can break tackles and a good defender
Brenton Hamilton AKA TANK gets alot of tough yards.......also a good LB on defense
Im not being a "homie" guy i just couldnt beleive no one has mentioned them I guess its b/c we are having a down year...But I dont think that shoudl have anything to do with it....

I agree JR, Chaffin and Reynolds are the best kept secret in EKY.

I didn't notice Hamilton too much in our game, but I did notice Peters. He was an outstanding athlete.

hamilton was out during ashland game.....he was in blue jeans a jersey throwing the game balls to the refs......

Peters has always been a great football player. I enjoyed watching him play the year that my boyfriend did for ER.
ER's Jimmy Coleman is a good player with alot of hard.
Kyle Fletcher was good. I miss Hank Simpson and Paul Deese though, loved to watch both of them play.

I believe that Pikeville held him to a low number of yards...just wonder how he has done? I know in past seasons he has done REALLY well though!!

I think that one you are leaving off is Tommy Taylor. He has like 9 catches for 6 TD's(Or something around those numbers) Also has a couple of picks. This kid can flat out move and knows how to tackle...

Josh Reynolds is a great player and very hard nosed. Probaly one of the best strong safeties/ linebackers i've seen in a while, adding to that he also had either 8 or 9 interceptions 2 years ago.

Your just saying that because your from lynncamp, i've gotten the chance to see this kid play, and he is good and makes plays time to time but dont get me wrong but hes not one of the best.

as a southeastern enthuisiasts, and a non camper, you must have him confused with someone else. HIs power running in betwixt the tackles is astonishing. plus the hands. I got to see the clip of the interception he had over at harlan this year....WOW.
The QB threw the ball nearly perfect, receiver gets his hands on it high, reynold's TAKES the ball, throws the kid down, runs over two lineman and the quarterback for six. if that isn't play making abilities, i don't know what is.
chaffin is a great back at LC as well, having a speedster like him and a brainbuster like reynolds and a slippery little snake like roskopf is making a LOT of people nervous this year. including all of us from over here at the brair patch

Yeah the "three-headed monster" is pretty hard to stop. And yeah reynolds is one tough MoFo.

its a thing we call the bandwagon. Plus, lynn camp has gotten a lot less redneck here in the past few years.
Jumping Dave is starting to get up there in the years, i give him 3 more tops. Who do you see as the heir apparent?

Nope....just get more people from your school/area and then it'll add some hype :argue:
and I think it's more or less those dang Pond Creekers that have the most people :boosign: :big grin:

There is nothing wrong with teams supporting their players. If you ever read on BGP there is several threads on Ron Blume, and some on here, its good to have sites like this to get kids credit, and help get their name spread around the state.
