How are all of the district races lookin in districts 7 and 8? who will make the play offs and who will not?

District 8 may actually be more clearer than District 7. If Phelps beats Allen Central, they will be the 4th seed. Hazard, Pikeville, and Paintsville are all unbeaten in district play, when they all play each other we will know the the top 3 seeds. In district 7 it is a mess right now. Lynn Camp is leading at 3-0, and Somerset is right there at 2-0. If both teams take care of business the two will square off for the district title, but both have tough games ahead, and can't overlook who they play before the big showdown in Somerset. Harlan is sitting pretty in the third spot, and still has a shot at the district title if they win out, and Somerset would beat Lynn Camp. Williamsburg also has a shot but would need help, they would need to win out and Somerset to drop two games in the district to win back to back district titles. Evarts is in a little trouble after losing to LC with Somerset and Williamsburg to play. If things play out like I think, the Evarts/Williamsburg game winner will finish 4th in the district. Cumberland is in major trouble, they are 0 and 3 in the district, and would need to win out and get some help to make the playoffs. They will be a dangerous team to play the rest of the season. In their 3 district losses they lost close games. Pineville is only 0-2 in the district, and are improved in the district, but with Somerset and Harlan yet to play, they will need help to make the playoffs. If they lose to Cumberland Friday, you can pretty much say Pineville will not make the playoffs. Yes it is as confusing to me, as it is to you reading this.

Like LC99 said -- District 8's top 3 have been decided with Pikeville, Paintsville, and Hazard. Now we just have to wait to see Pikeville v. Hazard, Hazard v. Paintsville, and Pikeville v. Paintsville.
If one team comes out undefeated in those three games then they will be #1 with the winner of the other 2 teams at #2 and loser #3. If say Pikeville beats Hazard, Hazard beats Paintsville, and Paintsville beats Pikeville, then I believe we have ourselves in a mess and have to go deeper into the tiebreak looking at like oponents and their records...just a real mess if it gets to that point.
Make's it more interesting though at that point if say in the final week with PHS v PHS and you have to factor in what would happen if say Prestonsburg or Johnson Central wins or loses that night. Gets real confusing but adds excitment!!
We will have to wait and see....should be good :Thumbs:

No if Allen Central beats Phelps this week, and if SF beats Allen Central it would create a three way tie between, Phelps, SF, and AC, and judging by the tiebreaker, Phelps has no points, and AC and SF have one point, with both teams beating Magoffin County. Allen Central still has to play McCreary Central, and they have won a game, so that point would put them in the 4th spot if they beat McCreary. SF is out if Phelps wins Friday, and Phelps would be the 4th seed.

What about a 3 way tie for the 4th spot in Dist 8?
Possible?

It is possible if Allen Central would beat Phelps Friday, and if South Floyd would beat Allen Central it would create a 3-way tie for 4th.

Beef I dont understand what it would matter if Prestonsburd or Johnson Central would win/lose on the night PHS and PHS plays? could u explain that to me...

Well, that was only half right. My mistake there.
But if it was tied you would take the number of victories that 4 of your oponents that you have beaten and add them together.
So it was only true for the Pburg part because Pikeville beat them. Not the Johnson Central partmmy bad on that.

**Assuming Pikeville, Paintsville, and Hazard all lose to each other**
So right now Pikeville would have these points:
Beat Phelps = Phelps 2 wins = 2 points
Beat Allen Central = 2 points
Beat South Floyd = 3 points
Beat Corbin = 2 points
TOTOAL = 9
Paintsville would have:
Fairview = 4 points
Phelps = 2 points
Allen Central = 2 points
Prestonsburg = 1 point
TOTAL = 9
Hazard would have:
Knott Co Central = 3
Allen Central = 2
Perry Co Central = 2
Prestonsburg = 1
TOTAL = 8
So if after the final game, if this were the case, for Pikeville to win they would need Corbin to win so they could get 10 points and for Prestonsburg and Fairview to get beat so Paintsville wouldn't get 10 AND eaither KCC or PCC to get beat so Hazard won't get 10 points.(Assuming that Pburg got beat to keep Paintsville to tie it)
Hope that helps....and I think that is right. How I understood the bylaws.

Corbin has a good chance to win out in the regular season imo so that will help Pikeville. The Panthers need to take care of business and not have to worry about this though.

I will be surprised if there is a tie in the top spot.
