Elisha Justice: Major D-1?
hopefully this kid does good and play at a major d-1 school...only time will tell...for certain he will get a lot of attention by schools this year and next..hopefully nothing goes to his head and he keeps playin good hard basketball
First of all, I dont want this to be taken the wrong way at all because I know that all of you Elisha fanatics think he is the greatest, and I am definatley not implying that he isnt a good basketball player. I, however am concerned with his height being a factor in him playing major D-1 basketball. I mean if Landon Slone isnt playing much at UK what makes you all think that Elisha can go major D-1 and actually contribute? Im not saying that the possibility of him being a walk on is out of the question, but I dont see him really contributing at a major D-1 school. I think he will play somewhere at the next level but Im not so sure it will be major D-1 or D-1 at all for that matter. I have sat back for a while and watched in amazement as you people hype Elisha up to be some kind of NBA superstar and as zulu said its not fair to get this kids hopes up like that. Furthermore, this topic should never have been brought up. The kid is a JUNIOR! Give it a rest.
Let's quit trying to evaluate Justice, none of us our D-1 scouts. Let's not plaster his name on all these sights and enjoy a great kid and player play. Give the kid a break, lets post things like keep up the great attitude and we enjoy you playing for him to read.
I Have Seen Elisha Play For Years Now And Went To School With Some Pretty Good Players(ie.todd May,gerald Osborne, hoskins Carroll, tim Lovely, bart Williams, and Donnie Jones) And I, Honestly Believe, Any D-1 School Would Only Be Helping Itself With The Addition Of This Fine Young Man.
IMO the kid is awesome & Pike County should be glad that he is representing us so well!!!!!!!!!
EJ, has the rest of this year and next , he has the skill it takes to play D1 i think he will play D1 some where. i hope if he dose he stays with it unlike most kids from the mountains like ervin stepp, todd may, charles thomas, just to name a few. GOOD LUCK EJ
i just like to wish the kid nothing but the best and hopes he gets a free education for his talent in div1 or naia or whatever or wherever he gets to play
Still has another year to go. And he will need it to make D1. Great hands, very creative, good kid, and just a super high school player. Hope he makes it.
He has a good shot at going D1. He is a very smart player and looks to get better every day. He is just an all-around great player. He should be a great addition to some D1 schools! Good luck Elisha.
Great player and I hear he's an even better young man. I for one hope that we do not see another negative post on here about him. He's working hard to develop the skills needed to be a college player and that's all we can ask of our kids here in the mountains. So please back off and let him just be a kid and enjoy his high school career.

VERY GOOD POST, I HAVE TO AGREE WITH YOU. GO ELISHA JUSTICE!!!
Elisha wore a WILDCATS JERSEY in junior high wore one in HIGH SCHOOL and I personally think he will be wearing one in just another few year A KENTUCKY WILDCATS Jersey

I was wondering on everyone's thought's about what he needs to do or keep doing to attract the attention of major D-1 schools.

I'll start by saying that he needs to find a way to showcase his 3-point range without disrupting the cohesion of the team. College coaches already see him as someone who could run their team from the point, but they need to know that he can shoot from the perimeter with some range. Some 30-40 point games would be a big boost, but that's going to be hard because of the style and well-rounded team that he's on at SV.

What college coach? He's too short and doesn't shoot consistent enough for div.1 schools. I yet have seen a team go man to man in this area...so can he handle pressure from a SEC or ACC team. We'll see in state tourn. if he can handle pressure from better athletes from northern Ky. teams.

Excellent post!! Finally someone with a little basketball knowledge. With tough pressure man to man he would never score at the major college level.
A point guard's main job isn't scoring, their job is to run the offense and distribute the ball where it needs to go.

He had no trouble with the Faulkners and had his way with the quickness of Henry Clay's guards. How tall should a point guard be? 6'4"? He is legit 5'10" and may still grow an inch or two, with his jumping ability his height isn't a hindrance. He can dunk a basketball and elevates on his jumper. I would be willing to bet that he gets up higher on his jumper than most good players in Eastern Kentucky that are 6'2" and over.
Elisha has faced many D-1 prospects this year and has outperformed them all. Hickman, Faulkners, the boys from Walton(who have already SIGNED D-1).
i don't see how all of you haters can honestly say that elisha can't handle the strong man to man defense and is too short. arkansas who is recruiting him really hard right now has a starting point gaurd that is 5'9. he is 5'10 or 5'11 and has already proved himself against some of the top teams in the state and against a strong georgia team. so please tell me how you get all of this crap.

if you ask nicely, Elisha might teach Dieb how to take a step to the basket without traveling.....:ChairHit:
Justice will be playing in the SEC, in 2010-2011.

Whether it be UK, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, or Tennesee.

IMO, he could redshirt and not worry about sitting on the bench his first year. But, then again with the work ethic he's got, he may not have to worry about sitting at all.

I think most on this site have agreed that Elisha is a better player than Landon was, and if Landon can see game time in the SEC, Elisha can.

my thoughts, exactly

What I meant was, instead of getting minutes every now and again, or a few each game. He could be in the rotation and who knows maybe even starting with that extra year a redshirt gives. That's just what I think.

I think it's possible too, Elisha has, as to quote from The Replacements, "Miles and miles of heart."

Oh, without a doubt he does. He's got a motor, a ticker and he's a beep beeper. Just to quote a few great analyst and coaches.
I like the "beep beeper" line.

Yeah me 2, I love watching those guys do commentary, its untellin what they'll say next. But, Justice is definetly all of those. He's the opposite of the grinch, who's heart was 3 times smaller than everyone else, I think.
...And to those who don't think that D-1 schools are looking at him. There were two representatives from Arkansas at the district championship game speaking with someone close to Elisha. Now they could have just been in the area and randomly picked out this person to talk to, but that seems pretty unlikely.
