Jon Hood and Ricardo Johnson are the two best. Sanford from Lexington Catholic is not far behind.

Scott Co. has 4 of them and Holmes has two. That leaves of 4 other players. I really like the big kid from Adair Co. Ballou.

Quite honestly, we have so many good players in the State, we should
change the thread to the Top 20 and then satisfy most people, not all, but
most. To not include the MVP of the just completed ALL "A" tournament on any
list is not paying attention to the facts. Elisha Justice should be on the Top 10
list, you could even include some of the other players on his own team, they
are not too shabby either.

I will admit I messed my list up and cant make a top ten. But MAJORITY of the posters on this board have made bad lists. ELIJAH PITTMAN is Holmes #1 Stud.
SHUTDOWN Euton and Phares (12 points and 14 rebounds TOGETHER) while he got 15 on them along with 10 rebounds 4 assist and a steal. He can shoot from the three and is 6'7 who can JUMP. quote from local college scout "He doesn't play above the rim, he plays above the square"
He is averaging 22.5 ppg, 4 bpg, 3 apg, and 9 rpg. He is the top ranked holmes player followed closely Ricardo who is trailed by a little by Jeremiah. Those three and Jon Hood the only 4 Im going to say for sure.

I like this list, but I really think you could take Hood at #1 and then throw all the other guys names in a hat (Tate Cox, Josh Whitaker, Jonathan Ferguson, Vee Sanford, Russ Middleton, etc) and the first 9 you pick would be as good as any.

I still can't see where you explain to me how the Faulkner boy is really better than Justice though and most shots are not ill advised if they are catching them out of the bottom of the net are they?
I agree with this post, and still have not seen any explanation from ky wildcats explaining how the Faulkner 1 or 2 is better they the Justice kid. However, it's hard to explain seeing how justice dominated both of them. Still waiting. Go big blue. :flame:

Pittman from Holmes has to be listed at or near the top and he is left off most of these list.
Justice is the best point gaurd in the state. There is not a team in the state he wouldnt make better.

I think he would handle it with flying colors, just like he has done in the tournaments that SV has played against some of the top defenders in the country. I think EJ is the best point guard in the state.
02-02-2009, 08:27 PM
To say Ethan Faulkner is better than Elisha Justice after Sunday morning is just lying to themself. Its not close. Faulkner is a great player, but Elisha is on an entirely different level. The fact that Logan and Elisha forced him into 8 turnovers should speak for itself. He simply cannot handle the ball with the SV guards hounding him. Its nothing against Ethan he is certainly one of the top guards in the state, but Elisha is special and anyone at that game knows that. Whether they admit it or not.

When SV played Walton, Georgia they had a D1 point guard already committed to NC State and Elisha shook him up on more than one occasion. The kid simply couldn't guard Elisha.

Sanford is a very good player, he can score. Elisha is a very good player, he can score, pass, handle the ball and play better defense. So that would make him the best point guard in the state! ...But Sanford is def. top 10 player

If we are talking state, many are leaving off some of the best players from around the entire state.
1. Ricardo Johnson-Holmes (best player on the best team in the state)
2. Vee Sanford-Lex Cath (conistent, size, can ply D and score)
3. Richie Phares-Scott Co. (best player on the 2nd best team in the state)
4. Russ Middleton-Mason Co (most underated player on last years State title team but may well lead Mason Co. back to another final 4)
5. Ethan Faulkner-Elliott Co (the glue on an extremely talented team)
6. Ge-lawn Guyn (sic)-Scott Co (True D-1 prospect)
7. Elisha Justice-Shelby Valley (another D-1 prospect who does it all on the court)
8. Byron Wright-Paducah Tighlman (sic) (maybe the best all around point guard in the state tournament last year and has PT poised for another trip, getting D-1 offers)
9. Elijah Pittman-Holmes (all the pub goes to Ricardo, but Elijah is the workhorse on this Holmes team)
10. Darren Ballou-Adair County (the MSU signee may be the best big man in the state
Honorable mention: Steve McFarland-Boone Co; Dakota Euton-Scott Co; Jonathon Ferguson-Elliott Co; Wesley Cox-Lousiville Ballard; Robert Hatton-GRC

Faulkner shot the ball well. I also know that Elisha only had 2 turnovers to Ethan's 8. Its not always about the stats. Fact is he couldn't even come to close to guarding Elisha one on one and Elisha and Logan picked his pocket on more than one occasion...

Im sure justice or ethan good get around each other and i did see the same game.. ethan kept him in front of him , Justice scored twice over cody knickell#0 but i dont recall every gettin to the rim the refs were horrible on both side i know of two no call that should have been something, ferguson getting tangled with one of the big guys in the first and two sv guys hitting each other and fallen back when he busted his mouth should havebeen a walk and evan fouling one of your guys to the floor not to mention all of the reach around fouls. '
But my only problem isnt that we didnt match your hustle in the first half.

To whomever said Vee Sanford would blow past Elisha:
Coming into the Elliott game, it was said that Elisha couldn't touch the Faulkners, well we see how that turned out, you CANNOT say ANY player would dominate Elisha until it happens, Elisha showed up D-1 talent from the South.

That my point with three ref to watch 10 young men surely they would see that everyone else in richmond did including yourself. The refs were awful Tall thin guy was calling stuff on sv that was horrible calls. Why when we played two years ago do we shoot 50 free throws? Im not trying to take anything away from your win my earlier post said we did not match your intense and we lost.
