Do you work out?
#1
I’m back at it.
I took most of three months off. I used the excuse I was laid off to stop lifting but after swelling up to 250 pounds again I decided to try and get back in shape.
There were some of us on another site in Ohio posting our numbers for awhile. Mine was way below theirs and they are even lower now.
Jan 27th of 2008 I put up 375 on the bench on my last lift.
Jan 27th of 2009 I was only able to put 300 up on my last lift.
When I first started after the three month lay-off I was only doing 225 for 2 reps.
I won’t post my best reps for that weight because it looks impossible to believe.
Hopefully I can stick with it this time.

At least 3 days a week at the gym

I workout Monday-Friday. Right now I'm running, push-up's, sit-ups, and pull-ups so I can get in shape by the time I ship out to Basic Training for the Air Force over the summer.

As far as getting to a gym....I don't do it near enough!! But I teach 25Kindergarteners so I definitely get a work out every day lol...I actually manage to lose weight during the school year when I don't even try to.
#9
I usually work out 45 minutes to 1 hour a day and run a mile a day.
#10
6 days a week for me....2 bench days, 2 squat days, and 2 deadlift days.

Benched 430 last monday!!!
#11
I will workout 5 days a week untill Baseball season starts then i will slow down a little because of practice everyday.

Mon. Chest Day
Tues. Shoulder Day
Wed. Back Day
Thurs. Leg Day
Fri. Arm Day

I usually work with weights for 1 1/2 hours, run for 45 min, and do abs for 30 min each day.

7 days a week
We added a dunbell day for about four weeks then were getting back on our old workout so we could do more workouts in a session. But right now it's like this.
Heavy Days- 12 workouts
Dumbell Days- 11 workouts then abs and cardio for 30 minutes
Light Days (machine)- 11 workouts then abs and cardio for 30 minutes

On bench and squats we follow a chart we got from a coach at EKU a couple years back. It has 7 different cycles for it and with us benching every 3rd day now it takes about 2 1/2 weeks to finish each cycle and on the last day we max.

4 Days a week

I worked out today with a stiff neck. Dag the pain was bad but after all was said and done I was glad I got the workout in.
#15
I finally started working out again after I took about 4 months off.
#16
6 days a week (Monday-Saturday)
#17
I don't work out at all.

To Lazy...lol
#18
So far I have three days in this week.
I plan on hitting it at least two more times this week.

I have a home gym in my house and I workout almost everyday except Saturdays. I use to work out religiously until I got married. I got really out of shape and overweight. I'm was not getting any younger so I decided it was time to get back in shape. I have been working out now for 8 months and I have lost about 35lbs and starting to gain some significant muscle definition again.

I am now down to 199lbs and my goal is a lean 175. I am 6'2 so that should a pretty healthly weight for me. Recently, I added the P90x program to my workout to help shed more fat. My goal is to obtain a six pack(something I have never had in my life). The exercise part is easy, it's just the dieting that gets to me. I have been dieting strictly the last few weeks, and I am starting to dream about Sloppy Joes and Homemade french fries. I also dream about hot dogs, hamburgers and chocolate chip cookies. It's sad, but I really do.

Anyway my workout look like this. I also try to do 100 push ups everyday on top of all the workouts.

Monday - Chest, 2 miles on treadmill, Ab ripper X
Tuesday- Shoulders and back - 2miles on treadmill - P90x cardio
Wednesday- Biceps, Triceps, and forearms - 2miles on treadmill - P90x upper
Thursday- Legs, 2miles on treadmill, P90x Lower Body
Friday - Chest again, 2 miles on treadmill, Ab ripper X
Saturday - Rest
Sunday - Rest or P90X Yoga(basically stretching)

I'm interested in knowing how many 225 reps you are getting, I will believe you because I have worked out with some guys in college that could can go for 225 for 30 to 40 reps(albeit half probably wouldn't count at a NFL combine). These guys could bench 450 to 500lbs though. Btw, what is your age?

Back in 1996 when I played at Morehead St University. I was maxing 350. That was the highest I ever got.I have no idea what I could do today. However, I weighed 265 then. I can't max out here because I have a home gym, and it only has 225 on the stack. When I first purchased the home gym I could barely do the stack once. Now, I am up to doing 3 sets of 225 for 8-10 reps (I don't know how accurate stack weights are either, probably couldn't do that many reps with free weights) . But I am not really trying to gain alot of mass, I am trying to get more definition.

28 is impressive. Are those full lock outs?

I edited the 40 to 50 reps(too much exaggerating) to 30 to 40 because I remember a couple of the very strong offensive lineman could get in the low 40s..I don't think any ever actually got close to 50.. But some of these guys weighed nearly 400lbs. However, most reps probably wouldn't count in a combine workout because they would do those short/quick reps without fully locking out.
#24
For example, they looked more like this. This kid done around 50 reps. These probably wouldn't count at a combine, would they? He is not fully locking out the elbows..

They are more of the short burst type. Two guys I always hit up for info on lifting both bench over 400 and they both said when they are doing reps they do the short burst type. We come back up to where the bar sets on the rack.

That's the way we do them in the video.

How much do you squat and deadlift?

From my experience, if you start doing heavy squats and deadlifts, then all your other lifts will go up.

I have never did dead lifts and stopped squatting after knee surgery.

Man, that stinks! I hate to hear that. Those are the two best total body lifts that you can do and were personally my favorites.
