The win over Pike Central marked 50 straight wins for Shelby Valley at home. This is currently the longest home winning streak in the Commonwealth.
The last time the Valley lost at home was February 24th 2004 to Lexington Catholic.

That is extremely impressive. With so much turnover every year, to maintain a streak like that is a great testatment to the program and commitment that the coaches and players beleive in.

Congrats! SV isn't always the best team in the area, but they have great feeder schools and it will always be tough to get a win from them at home!

Perry Central can be very frustrating to play with their slow-down offense...

I wouldn't call losing 1 game in 50+ choking out.

Perry is better than anyone Valley will play in the 15th and will give them a game. Also I bet Valley has quite an impressive record over the last few years.

Dont' boast too much. How many times has Vallley been the top dog and been beat out in the region and in distict tournaments. I predict that it will happen again this year. Ask Paintsville, I'm sure they can tell you about a few times.

Your name explains your statement....LOL.

To my knowledge SV hasn't been beaten out of the district since 98/99, and they definitely were not a "top dog" that year... They've been beat out of the region twice when they were favored to win it all and that was 00/01 (Allen Central) and 03/04 (Prestonsburg)

It's common knowledge that SV has had the upper hand on Paintsville for the past 6 or 7 years in the regional tournament. I believe last year is the only time that Paintsville has knocked SV out... and Paintsville was the "top dog"

Agree, most people had the Tigers pick to win it all, not Valley
