15th In 2009
#1
any predictions?
#2
Prestonsburg WILL be good. They have a New Coach. New Pitcher. AWESOME FRESHMAN! I think they can make SOME noise lol.
#3
Who is the new pitcher?
#4
In no particular order: Lawrence County, Magoffin, Johnson Central, Shelby Valley, East Ridge, Allen Central, Pikeville, and Prestonsburg are all teams to look out for. A lot would depend on changes made within the teams from last season until this one. Returning players, new coaches, new players, I mean a number of things could change on any given day.

Well, P-burgs not got any particular pitcher actually, but this girl is a 8th grader!

Also, Prestonsburg should be Higher than AC! Weve actually made some good transistions and AC has had the same pitcher since 2007 season! Im sure most could hit her by now!
#13
After Prestonsburg gets in a rhythm we can hit anything. We have got alot of good players this year. And they all are hitting great. We are really please with are new coach and I expect us to go somewhere this year.. GO PHS!!!
#14
LC and JC are two of the best IMO.
#15
LC.
they have a lot of talent.
emily mills is going to be the ace for them this year.

I think this is a good start for a pre season top 10

SV regional runner-up, bring back most of the team, good pick at 1
JC region semi and bring back the big bat of CC, could make the difference
ER a young but very talent team and could win it all
LC lost top pitcher, but have pieces to replace her, and has best coach in the region, be my pre season favorite
AC should win Dist. could be a dark horse, fast pitcher
MC young team, good offense, pitching not very dominating, but can outslug most team, in a tough dist.
P-ville good team in the wrong dist. would win any other dist.
Belfry a very nice squad and will win their dist. and be a tough game in the region.
SC good young pitcher, defense most improved to make a run in tough dist.
Prestonsburg new coach and could challanege AC for dist.

my pre season picks for 15th
1. LC
2. SV
3. ER
4. JC
5. Belfry
6. AC
7. Pikeville
8. MC
9. P-burg
10. Phelps

That looks solid for a pre-season. Things could be said about any one of these teams, anything could have changed from last season so before any games are played I could agree with this one.

No offense, but the awesome freshman probably to the most will be an average senior (or maybe a little better than a senior if they're really good). The fact is even though Prestonsburg has an awesome freshman doesn't mean they're going to win the region or anything. It just means they can have a good future.

:flame: i think your predictions will show no similarlarities at the end of season

um. er at 1?

considering they didnt even make a region final last season.
how could they even be considered for #1 pre.season
.yes they have all young players returning. that doesn't make much of a difference - they lack experience.
#25
lc only lost 3 seniors.
pitcher, 2nd base, and outfielder.
plenty of returning talent
#26
lc lost more then that they also lost their first basemen and their shortstop...! the only potential they have is last years jv team pretty much having to step up..so i hope they have luck on their side.!Rolleyes
#27
not sure of who the players names are...but who did they lose their SS too? HSe had an arm on her! don't remember much about their 1B....they lost about their whole infield....that is a BIG loss IMO
#28
if LC has lost most of thier infield then putting them at the top isn't something I could see..maybe 4-5 and Shelby Valley would be the contender for the top spot..I agree...LC best coach in the region? not sure about that one....she never coached a softball team before....there are many other coaches that can be considered the best in the region
#29
LC is very talented. This year it should be wide open. They are a lot of teams that are close. This should be an exciting year with a lot of runs scored since the region lost some great pitching. Good luck to all the teams.
#30
well i went down to state last year and watched all the team before the state tournament. the big thing i noticed is that lc coach was way more behind the other coaches..the girls in my opion did okay at state but maybe with better coaching they could of won the state tournament. as for their loses i think they lost two key players.. the pitcher and their ss. they made and broke the team. but this younger bunch, it is new and its a new generation. does anyone know anything about the picher and ss? i know that they both have very good starting potential for any college teams around here?
