I've asked this question to JC coaches, fans, etc. prob 15 times the last 2 years.....
Why doesn't Jeremy Bratton play more? In the games I have watched, he is the only player on the team besides his brother and Welch that I ever see playing aggressive, going to the hole, etc.

exactly, ive said the starting five for johnson central should be
jeremy bratton
tanner bratton
ian welch
mike conley or j.k hall
and jo whitaker
because they work together as a team, and play aggresive d

i say the eagles team has the potential to become great if they would play together and cooperate with each other i was at this game tonight and i saw alot of last second passes being stolen because no man wants to give up the ball. but johnson central just needs to come together

I agree! These are football players too so you know they are tough. Way too much talent to play the way they have this year and it does not look like they are going to turn it around. Oh well only 6 months to football season.
Congrats to KCC on the win.

What are you saying, we do not need the Bratton Brothers or Welch, interesting! Are you saying we do not need the football players on the team? The Brattons and Welch play hard and agressive , most of the rest of the kids do not seem to want t mix it up, I am a JC fan but that is a fact. With the same talent pool the JC football program has suceeded and the basketball has not, another fact. I am a long time JC fan that is tired of seeing talent wasted and just mediocre results.
This thread is about the game, how many points did the Cox kid end up with? Who was high scorer for JC?

I cant believe you actually think JC cant play without Welch and the Brattons..they can..neither of the Brattons make stupid decisions but the oldest has to get tougher...i don't think he mixes it up at all like you say he does...but the younger one is a House...he can push a lot of ppl around...and Welch is a athlete that's all..he can do many things..but he cannot lead the team..i believe the ones that need to step up and play to their potential is the sophomores Parker and Hall...Whitaker doesn't play bad at all..in fact i believe hes playing best on the team...also Conley coming off the bench tonight played well i believe..
and to answer your question the Tate Cox kid had 13..and the leading scorer for JC was Parker with 16 to lead both teams..JC played well but to many mistakes at the end is all..they need to step it up if they plan on winning districts and regions..

Congrats to KCC on the win. I don't think he was 100% last night, his foot is still a little purple looking, but it is alot better. But he is on the mend, I hope they keep him off of it for a little while longer, but I ain't the coach and I know the player won't want to stay off of it.

What I am saying is great athletes make great basketball or football players, they have have to be developed. The football program has done a better job than the basketball program, just a fact. I do sense a division among the posters on who should play, could this be carrying over to the team?
As I have stated I am a long time JC fan and just tired of being middle of the pack every year with the number of althletes at our school. They need to be utilized and developed.

Good effort by both teams...Freshman Zach Davis stepped up big when team needed a lift...
01-08-2009, 11:09 AM
The Davis kid is going to be a player for Knott. He didn't even play the first half, when Johnson Central took the lead in the 2nd half, he was put in and wasn't even guarded about 3 trips in a row and hit 2 wide open 3's and an uncontested layup, then after a time out, he hit another 3. Why didn't he play earlier, who knows, but he did a heck of a job when he was in there! Nice game for the Pats. Stamper was still favoring his ankle a little, but is getting a lot better it looks like. Good luck against the Dogs!

These are the starters..? Tommy has them on a rotation, haven't you been watching their games?

JC will be fine coach Mckenzie and his staff will get this teams act together..GO EAGLES!!!
01-08-2009, 11:28 AM
JC is a heck of a team and tommy mckenzie is a heck of a coach if u all only kenw what he does for the kids that play for him and how much he pushes and motivates them they jus need to get it together and they will be unstopable
01-08-2009, 11:48 AM
The only thing wrong with Johnson Central right now is sometimes they (the players and not all of them) think that a few parts is better than the sum. When they made the big run at the start of the 3rd quarter last night, they played exceptional TEAM defense and TEAM offense. Then, the few decided to not play defense the way they were doing and to try and do things by theirselves on the offensive end. When some decided to be try and do it theirselves then is when JC got in a hole they couldn't get out of.

Congrats to Zach Davis on winning the well deserved player of the game award. This game was in doubt for KCC until Zach came in to the game in the third qtr. and gave the Pats the lead and played well on thru the 2nd half. Looking forward to the Hazard vs Kcc re-match Friday nite.
