Villa Madonna junior guard Blake Bryan set a school single-game scoring record with 48 points in a 78-75 boys' basketball victory over Bellevue on Monday night.
Bryan, who also had 12 rebounds and six assists, easily broke the previous record of 39. He surpassed the 1,000-point career scoring barrier Saturday.
Bryan got off to a torrid start Monday, scoring 21 points in the first quarter with four 3-pointers. He was 9-of-16 from behind the 3-point line.
Villa Madonna hit eight of 12 free throws in the fourth quarter to seal the victory
Bellevue senior forward Mike Young also turned in a strong performance with 32 points.
