feels good to get a monkey off you're back if you are a tomcat fan. But better luck next time to pburg. D on ashland looked good including the opening sack from Aaron Cordial sending it to 3rd down i believe, but better luck to pburg next time.

I heard something about the Coaches of P-burg and some players from Ashland getting into it before the half. Does anyone know anything about this?

what I seen was a hit from cannoy I believe sending the stadium into a uproar as well as the sideline. And the coach seemed like he did not like it and ran over to get into it with one of Ashlands coaches becuase I think the coaches where either trying to get their players away from the injured pburg player or see if he was ok but overall I do not know.

And he thought they where taunting him but iono.

I didn't think Prestonsburg would get beat this bad......congrats Ashland

Adam Cannoy absolutely destroyed a Pburg player. It was a clean block, but the kid was down and motionless for 30 seconds or so. The Pburg coaches came to check on him, and got in Coach Harts face pointing his finger at him etc. Well Coach Hart didnt back down. There were 18 sec. left in the first half, and the officials just ended the half. That was one of the best hits in Ashland history, it was that good.

Ashland absolutely dominated this game. Tyler Reliford scored 3 TD's and had a 60 yard int. return to the 3, Matt Thomas had some really nice runs, and scored a TD. Drew McDavid returned an int. 80+ yards for a td, Ian Holbrook threw a 50 yard TD pass to Adam Cannoy, and sophmore Jeremy Nethercut scored Ashland last TD on a 57 yard run. Great job Tomcats! Next week we beat Ironton!!

I give up.. Im gonna cheer for Belfry.

I forgot to mention how great Ashland 2 new kickers played tonight. JD Kepler and Preston Freeman, both really good soccer players played in their first game tonight. Both did extremely well, and are a great addition to our team!!

Who were you cheering for?

I heard about the hit, but it's not all that difficult to put someone on there back when they're not looking. I also heard something about Ashland calling a timeout before the half trying to get the ball back to score  .

I really don't think it's the players at P-burg. I never have thought it was the players. They have the talent, they just don't have proper coaching. I have said that from day one and still say it. DeRossett was just lucky that he was blessed with the talent he had since 2000. He didn't have to do much coaching then cuz the players that he had made him look good. He had RB's that could break tackles, change directions, make people miss. He had QB's who could launch accurate passes, plus take a hit but stay on their feet, and QB's that could scramble. He had an outstanding O-line (which may I remind you is the same O-line from last year). They were always strong as far as LB's go with players like Josh Slone, Jeremy Carr, JM Stephens, etc. Special teams and wide out he had Jamerson who could make anything happen anytime he wanted to. When you have players like that, you don't have to worry about coaching. Just think about the Bulls. They had Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and others and therefore that made Phil Jackson look good. Same goes for the Lakers with Kobe and Shaq. Anyone could come in and coach players like that. I think it all falls back on the coach's shoulders. I'm sorry and P-burg players, fans, coaches or whatever might not agree, but that IS the problem at P-burg and will be until they get a new group in.

We already had the ball. The block was during a run by Ashland QB Ian Holbrook. I think we got the ball back with like 40 seconds left in the first half, the hit happened with about 20 seconds left, and Ashland had the ball pretty deep in Pburg territory, until the officials just ended the half automatically.

That was a good hit too, but Cannoy's was a much much bigger hit. Cordials hit seemed harder because it knocked the kids helmet off. Im tellin ya Ashland flat out brings the hits. When you play us you better be ready.

I swear it seemed like yesterday I was watching Cordial and Cannoy learn the game of football and with the guidance and great coaching of the staff it seems like they have been playing it their whole entire life.

I agree with you 100%! Their coaching is terrible
#25
Wow!! Didn't expect anyone to agree with me on that.

Derossetts play calls are horrible. A prime example is him trying to run the ball out of the shotgun set this season.
#27
Something is horrible

Congrats to Ashland on the win.
P-burg has been a disappointment this season for sure.
I can remember in the pre-season the thread being made of who would be better this year the Burg or Belfry.
No competition this season, P-burg is getting their butts handed to them this year.

I totally agree. This year has really proved it, its as if Coach John doesn't care anymore. He took away the stat cats this year, Family night...he has completely taken the community out of Blackcat Football- "A Family Tradition"

As much as I love coach D, he always has seemed to depend on his players more than he expects his players to depend on him during big games. He has always ran the ball out of the shotgun people, we just always had excellent players and it didnt matter where we ran the ball from because we always knew we were gonna gain yards, and coach D knew that as well. This year, he has 4 or 5 good players, but not 10 or 12 awesome players like he has had the last 5 years, and it's making him look like he doesnt know how to coach. He is probably the best coach in the mountains as far as preparing his players and motivating his players, but I will agree with BCF4L, he has no idea how to call an offense. IMO he should let his brother james call the offense and coach D call the defense.
