I can't believe they have KCC down that far after they be SV, Hazard and LCC. Whats up with that? Looks like it should have been like this to me.
1 Corbin
2 SL
3 KCC or PCC
4 same as above
5 SV
6 Hazard
7 LCC
8 Middlesboro
9 Johnson Central
10 East Ridge
Those guys who make this list just don't like KCC at all. KCC's record is like 9 and 4 isn't it?

Is Elliot Co. not a mountain team?
01-03-2009, 01:21 PM
OMG. Poor KCC. I'm sorry but I've heard it all now from the KCC fans. WYMT just don't like them. That is ridiculous. Hasn't KCC lost their last 3 games? I'm not surprised to see PCC and LCC in front of them. PCC beat 2 of those teams that beat KCC and LCC is 9-1 now. They had KCC up high just a few weeks ago. They don't pick who they like, you have to earn your spots. KCC is just not playing good ball right now plus the injuries. I fully expect to see KCC back up at the top before too long but it will be because they win, not because someone likes them.

LOL, are we still going on about this? When you beat teams that aren't at full strength you don't prove anything!

Im a Perry Central Fan and i love seeing the dores at #4...but i do agree that knott shouldnt be that low they should be atleast 5 or 6..but as far as the people from wymt not liking them thats a little crazy..lol

It doesn't, because it wasn't a Kentucky High School game, so win or loss it didn't mean jack. Anything else you'd like to add?

Their #8 ranking is due to KCC going to Lexington and going 0-3. Once they get healthy and back home in the mountains they will work their way back up the ratings. Relax, they will be fine and they are not ranked so low because someone doesn't like them.

No they are not.

I started to break this down for Sassy, but instead I'll just leave it at this........

I agree that Knott will move back up, but they'll have to win their way back up........ it's just ridiculous that sassy and a couple more on here think that KCC's losses should just be overlooked. You can't lose 4 out of the last 5 and not expect to move down in the rankings.

....... especially when another team from the same region played 3 of the 4 they lost to, beating 2 and going to OT with the other.

No way the Shelby Valley is that low. Shelby Valley (when healthy) would crush any team in the mountains. If you want to say Elliot County is in the mountains then that would be the only Mountain team that Valley would have trouble with.

They wouldn't crush Corbin or KCC, but they would have trouble with Elliott.

They would if they were healthy. Elliot would beat Shelby Valley 7 out of 10 times even if Valley was healthy.

Quote:Shelby Valley defeated a Walton team with 2 players ranked in the top 100 in the nation for their classes. Who has Elliott beaten this year?
Quote:I honestly couldn't care less where they're ranked. Walton won the state title 2 years ago, Rice and the other boy were on the squad then too. When was the last time Elliott played a team with two ACC signees? Wait, when was the last time this season Elliott played a respectful team? Oh yeah, that hasn't happened yet, their cupcake schedule lasts the ENTIRE year other than the All A.So, enlighten me, did this or did this game not mean anything? Because you just said it didn't but were using it as evidence in an argument in another thread.

Looks good to me, I look for these rankings to change all season long. As for Knott Central, I think we will see this week coming up if they should be higher in the top 10 when we see them play in the WYMT.If KCC can win the tourney or have a good showing, they'll be right back up toward the the top if not they might even fall out of the top 10.

Buckeye's4Life Wrote:Is Elliot Co. not a mountain team?
Yes they are.
But they're not in the WYMT viewing area and are not included in this particular poll.
But as far as being a mountain school, well, they definitely 100% are.
I wish there was simply a Mountain Top 10. Then we would have a legit mountain top 10 poll. And Elliott County would for sure be number 1.
01-04-2009, 01:58 PM
Hazard is rated too low in this poll. And I think they're still the best team in the 14th when it will really count, at the end of February.
01-04-2009, 02:17 PM
Shelby Valley at full strength is most definitely the most talented team in the WYMT viewing area and also the best, but they aren't at full strength so I think without a healthy Elisha they are probably number 3 or 4. So long as Elisha makes a full recovery it doesn't matter where they are right now.
On a side note I also think Shelby Valley is the 2nd best class A team in the state. Elliott is not only the best class A team, but I think they are the flat out best team in the state of Kentucky.

I agree with sassy that everyone does hate KCC. But i think that KCC is where they should be atm. Once healthy they will rise again.

Give me a break..who hates KCC..everyone has been doing nothing but worshiping them..including Briam Milam and everyone from Sports OT..how can you say they hate them..Knott is a good team but no one will be in the top 5 after losing 3 games in a week and a half
01-04-2009, 03:41 PM
The thing about polls is that they are made to change. You are judged on how you have done lately and not how you will do a month from now. That will be a new poll..As much as everyone wants their team to be as high as possible the only thing that really matters is where you end up in the final poll and that is called the regional title. Knott County will get healthy and get better. Hazard will regroup and get better. And I still think that the best team in the mountains with everyone healthy and playing to their capability is Shelby Valley. Fans dont worry where your team is right because polls dont allow you to play in Rupp....

I should have said it seems to me that everyone hates KCC. Is that better moderator? since you wouldn't post what I really said.

I couldn't agree more!! These polls mean nothing and change like the weather!! It's what happens in the end that really matters!! Good luck to all!!
