Did Justice play in this one?

Tough loss for the SV kids. How much did Justice play in this game? Or did he play?

I'm not sure. I was getting updates after the quarters over the phone, but it was very loud in the gym. The stats will probably be posted on www.gflso.com in a little bit and that will give more of an idea how much he played.

I checked the box score, but I have trouble figuring out if it shows how many minutes each player logged. If it does show that stat, I'm missing it.
But, however much Elisha played, he is obviously not the same player. Tonight he scored 2 points, both on free throws, and shot 0-5 from the field. Definitely not what you would normally expect from him.
I wonder why Booher is even playing him? If he's hurting, I would think that extra rest would help him recover more quickly. Besides, it doesn't seem like his mere presence on the floor is helping SV play any better. They need him back, but only if he's healthy enough to help the team win.

I know that everyone in Eastern Kentucky wants EJ back healthy, so please let him get well. The boy has a lot of heart and will try to play, but coach, make sure that it will not damage that shoulder more and lose him for the season. We are all praying for him.

Lots of good comments made here on this game and about Justice. I am going to add my name to the list of well wishers. Most of our losses have been single digits with the single loss to Heritage Academy being maybe considered a blow-out. With Justice at 100% only the Heritage game might be in question in my opinion. Let's just pray he heals quickly and doesn't injure himself more badly.

I talked to Elisha last week and he said the doctor told him playing wouldn't do any further damage to the shoulder. He said it was up to him when he felt comfortable playing again. Obvisouly he isn't near 100%, but he is a competitor and wants to play.

Do you know if he had an MRI done? Is the doctor sure that there is no structural damage?
I want him out there helping the team win, but I just hate the thought of him messing his shoulder up even worse and hurting his chances of playing at the next level.

I know this was tough for Justice and Valley because they thought this was the tournament that would show how good they are and also a chance for Elisha to play against one of the best gaurds in the country. They should have shut him down after the injury. He or the team has not benefited from him trying to play injured. He did not have to prove anything because everyone already knows about his work ethic and his personality. These games did not matter in the grand scheme of things. Take your time let him heal and make a run at an ALL A state championship. Just my opinion nothing more nothing less.

Good post.
I agree, there is no point in pushing things in games that don't matter as much. Rest Justice and get him healthy for the more important games later in the season, like the All-A next month and especially the post-season in late February.
SV's next 4 games after they get back from Florida are East Ridge, Betsy Layne, North Laurel, and Pike Central. After that is the regional All-A tournament, where they would play three more games if they keep winning. Valley should be able to win all of those games even without Justice, so I don't see any reason to rush him back to the floor.

Absolutely no reason Elisha should be playing. He has a lot of heart but he still has another year to go, coach should not be letting him play no matter how bad he wants to.

I'm pretty sure he did have an MRI and was told that he could do no more damage by playing.

IMO, Booher should have let Justice sit during this tourney. It don't hurt Valley in the State or Region.......I mean really, He's the coach. I know Justice wants to play........That is where he should have stepped up and done what was best for the team and the kid.

I agree wiyh bighog and cowbell justice needs rest the bigger scheme of things are more important.Valley is very talented taylor tyler ashley and others can more than pull them through.

I agree, Justice should see limited practice and not play a second in at least the next 3 games.......I could understand him playing in the 4th to knock the rust off...... A coach needs to step up and put his team first ahead of his record and/or ECSPECIALLY the health of a kid! I'm sure Justice wants to play, but IMO Booher needs to think about what Justice needs, instead of what Justice wants.

Good luck Elisha, no matter the decision to play, my hope is that he gets healthy.

It is my understanding that all he had was a partial dislocation. It cant be hurt any worse than it is now by playing, unless of course he dislocates it again. Which isnt any more possibility of that happening now as it would be if he took a month off. It can still get sore and tender by playing, but that is the extent of his playing. All he is doing now by playing is another form of therapy for it.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It is the size of the fight in the dog.

So is Valley done with this tourny now?
