American Heritage, FL 76 - Shelby Valley 59
#1
Final... Sorry the score was 76-59. I was given the score over the phone.

Not a horrible loss to one of the best teams in the country, with one of the best players in the country.

Sounds like they dug themselves a hole early being down nearly 20 at halftime.

Hopefully they can win their next couple of games and come back with a couple more wins.

Did Elisha get much PT tonight.

Stats

2nd quarter was tough for Valley getting outscored 25-9. Rest of the game seemed pretty even.

Justice only took a couple shots again this game. Boynton had 23 points, but shot 0-7 from 3pt range.

Shelby Valley led in scoring by Logan Bryant with 13.

Shelby Valley needs to improve their free throw % if they want to win big games. They seem to struggle there night in and night out.

Sounds like they played them pretty good in the 2nd half. Against a team like that, that was a huge hole to dig out of.Good game Valley, and hopefully you will grow from this.Good luck in the rest of the tournament.

Congrats Valley on a hard fought game. Keep your heads high, and get a couple more wins in FL!

Not a bad loss. Kentucky teams playing this kind of out of state competition will only make them better.

What is American Heritage ranked in the country?

One poll said 17th, but you know how hard it would be to try to rank high school teams from every state. Every poll has something different, and sometimes drastically different. One poster said they weren't even one of the top teams in Florida. So who knows.

Anyway, it is a great experience for them, and they can always say they played against one of the best players in the nation.

True... even with a loss, a game like this should help them improve.

Not a bad showing against the 17th ranked team in the Nation

Excellent point.

Good luck to Valley the rest of the tournament.

Did Elisha Justice get to play in this game?

Good Luck In The Rest Of The Season Shelby Valley!!!

Seems like the 2nd quarter really hurt them. Good game by Tyler Newsome and Logan Bryant
Agree that no loss is a good lose but this is as good as they come. Wasnt at the game but was told it was very physical.
#16
Tough loss for the Wildcats. Hopefully they'll bounce back and pick up a few wins in the tourney.

So who do they play next?

[SIZE=2] Lakeland Senior High School, Lakeland, Florida
07/08 record 24-6
Regional semi-finalist for 07/08, they were ranked as high as 13th in the state (6A). This team returns four starters and a 17-2 JV team to feed the program. Led by seniors: Richie Edwards 6-7, Quinton Everett 6-3, Tory Smith 6-3 and juniors: Quaryshawn Nealy 6-1 and DaShown Green 6-2. Coach Deron Collins has a strong program.

Game is scheduled to start at 2:30, but they are running behind a little each game. The boys are at Disney today, then get back at it tomorrow. Elisha still isnt playing even at 70%, Deven took a elbow to his arm last night hand he has a what looks like a charlie horse knot on the inside of his arm. Hopefully things will pick up and we get the kinks worked out for tomorrows game.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It is the size of the fight in the dog.

I seriously doubt that this team is really actually 17th in the country. But they are good and have a great ball player and that is good experience for SV.

Congrats on the effort.

I hope that the coach does not use EJ if he is too hurt. He is a really fine player and a great kid. Keep him well.

Good experience for the Wildcats.. They do need Elisha healthy, and I am sure he will be back at full strength soon. Some really good kids on that team that are really fun to watch...

Just saw where Boynton scored 48 tonight in the semifinals of the tournament. Bet that was fun to watch.

Interesting......... A very good team and a tall challenge for an Eastern Ky. team nonetheless.
