Kentucky Basketball Academy Classic - Battle of the Bluegrass

Kentucky Basketball Academy Classic- "Battle of the Bleugrass"
This one day event is in the works, with contractual items needing to be hammered out, and sponsors being locked in, but on Dec. 5, 2009, this event will take place in the Farnham-Dudgeon Civic Center in Frankfort, KY.

So far, 9 teams have committed. A few others have voiced they are very interested in playing, and could possibly be in. The KBA is also working on getting 2 out-of-state teams to come in and play as well.

In all, 14 high school teams, 7 games, will form the KBA-Battle of the Bluegrass Classic. When a corporate sponsor is locked in, expect their name to replace KBA. KBA will still host the event at Civic Center.

The teams committed are:

Scott Co.
Clay Co.
Mason Co.
Shelby Co.
Christian Co.
Knott Co. Central
Holmes
Male
J'Town

We need 3 more state teams to round out this day, as well as those 2 out-of-state teams.

If anyone knows of any top KY teams of 2009-2010 who would be interested in playing in this great event on Dec. 5, 2009, please contact the KBA directly. With all that will be contracted, it will be more than just a great game!!

Wouldn't mind seeing Shelby Valley get in on this.

I would love to see SV get in this event as well, and I know they were invited personally by members of the KBA.

But Booher turned them down saying he was going to host the Wildcat Classic on this date.

Not sure why he would turn down a chance to showcase how good his team is going to be next season, and the great players he will have, in front of a statewide audience, but maybe he thinks he will make more money having his event.

Maybe someone can talk him into playing in this great event. His team should be one of the top teams in the state next season, and they should be a part of these other great teams who will be playing on Dec. 5, 2009 at the Frankfort Farnham-Dudgeon Civic Center.
